This is probably considered cool nowadays to be ignorant and not know...

But I remember the 90's generation of rappers was always knowledgable about the pioneers and showed respect, knowledge, and reverence. All those rappers were critically questioned in this regard and they all gave up props without hesitation and had true love and respect for the culture and tradition. Look at Pacs "old school" song or Snoop "Lodi dodi" and Em always biggin up Ice Tea and doing "I'm Shady"
