If you could only leave 5 items for future generations to know what hip hop was about, what would you leave? (If you pick albums, you're allowed 5 of them as one item).
1. Albums (These albums are to me the most influential albums of all time):
a. Run DMC - Run DMC
b. Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full
c. Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
d. N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton
e. Dr. Dre - The Chronic
2. A pair of shell toe Adidas (When I think of hip hop fashion I think of the shell toe Adidas)
3. A picture of 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. with an explanation of who they are written on the back (They and their deaths were arguably the most influential event for the new school generation)
4. The movie Wild Style (This movie represents hip hop in it's purest form and it's elements: rapping, DJing, graffiti and breakdancing)
5. A turntable (The creation of hip hop)

I tried to think of something different than you, but I couldn't. Everything you listed is ideal.

Maybe also Chuck D's book "Fight The Power".
That's some stuff to think about.
Some Spike Lee flicks, like
Clockers
or
Do The Right Thing.

Yep id most definatly agree with that...and a film like juice...
...the video for By The Time I Get To Arizona - PE...damn that shit hit hard!
...some tims...n cross colour clothing ...click suits whatever...
...add to the music wu tang - 36 chambers, ice cube - predator (reflected the peoples voices at the time of rodney king..only really PE kicked it with so much hate and truth before)
on the thought of PE id put in Air Hoodlum track as well...encouraging youths to find more education as well as sport / music...something as a backup...
on the flipside id give em tribe songs...something like bonita applebaum
To show that hiphop can be many things...you can listen to it for knowledge and understanding...for the beats / flow...for no reall reason haha...
...can also enhance moods either happy, chilled, angry, sad etc etc
God there is so much..too much ..lol im out
