Fun piece about that classic Above the Rim Soundtrack from back in the day. In addition to Warren and Nate, also loved hearing about Big Pimpin'

Exactly.  It's top 10 but definitely not the best ever.  It wasn't even the best on Death Row.  Murder Was the Case was superior to Above the Rim.  For Rap Soundtracks top 5 goes like this:

1.  The Show
2.  Murder Was the Case
3.  Sunset Park
4.  Jason's Lyric
5.  Above the Rim

"No More Endo Gin and Juice..." probably Snoop's Magnum Opus, maybe next to "Gin and Juice" or they count "G Thang" even though it was featuring Snoop

That's got to be the hardest verse Snoop ever wrote man I mean it was the rap version of Thriller for sure.  Then you got Dre and Cube topping that shit with another Rap Epic like Thriller with "Natural Born Killaz" larger than life track.  Then you gonna hit um with Dogg Pound's most bangin cut "What Would U Do" Tray Dee drops his gem followed by Nate classic and the ultimate posse cut of all time "Who Got the Gangsta Shit" then Sam Sneed's banger never gets old... I mean that album has epic bangers after epic banger... Quik comes with one of the most famous and classic diss records of all rhyme... they made some questionable song choices after that though, they should of used a song from Pac since they paid him the money

Okay now this shit is pissing me off.. it's bad enough the album I bought didn't have "Pain" on it which is a classic 2pac joint..

...now I find there was another banger that was like a leftover single B Side joint for the Regulators single but also attributed as being part of the Above the Rim soundtrack, well I never heard this banger until today..

This is 2pac and Treach why did they leave these two 2pac songs off the Soundtrack when 2pac is a star rapper and he's in the movie it doesn't make any sense that these songs wouldn't be there.

So I bought the album from Wal-Mart so it was also missing "Dogg Pound 4 Life".  So check this out... I was missing

"Pain"
"Dogg Pound 4 Life"
2pac and Treach joint

Yeah, it's so strange that several songs got left off the official Above the Rim soundtrack, but could be found on the Regulate maxi-single or the companion Music from Above the Rim miniature soundtrack.  Not just Pain and Loyal to the Game, but also Lord G's Mi Money Rite appeared on some versions as well depending on whether you got the Regulate maxi or the Music From in the US, Europe, or Asia.

If you're interested in buying some hard copies, some private sellers have them on Discogs.com.

yeah and did they even have a reason for not just putting all these joints on the retail cd and just having the same tracks on all releases
