Definitely more hits then misses.  Good blend of something for everyone.  Nothing special but a solid listen on the first spin.

Keepers:

01. Neva Left
02. Moment I Feared (feat. Rick Rock)
03. Bacc In da Dayz (feat. Big Tray Deee)
04. Promise You This
09. Toss It (feat. Too $hort & Nef The Pharaoh)
10. 420 (Blaze Up) [feat. Devin the Dude, Wiz Khalifa & DJ Battlecat)
11. Lavender (Nightfall Remix) [feat. BADBADNOTGOOD & KAYTRANADA]
12. Let Us Begin (feat. KRS-One)
13. Mount Kushmore (feat. Redman, Method Man & B-Real)
14. Vapors (DJ Battlecat Remix) [feat. Charlie Wilson & Teena Marie]
15. Still Here

Battlecat did a bunch of beats on here.  He's still got it.

After a couple spins, here's my 2 cents about this album (compilation?), The Start is dope but after Trash Bags it's mixed with bad songs, recycled and average ones... Big Mouth for example has a dope beat but what an awful delivery from Snoop  :-X I dont know may be Ive heard so many Snoop joints that I need higher standard from him... well Im gonna enjoy the Rick Rock song for a day or 2 and I'll see him next year lol

On first listen, I'm pleasantly surprised.

I had no expectation for this but this is slapping.

Based on my first listen, I will only delete 2 tracks, Trash Bag because it's Trap and just for radio spin and Vapors remix (I don't know why this is necessary).

The res I fuck with and will keep bumping.

Moment I fear - Slapping!

Bacc in da dayz - Banging (Eastsidaz vibe)

Promise you this - Slapping!

Swivel - Knocks!

Go on - Groovy

Big Mouth - another slapping beat

Toss it - Slapping!

420 - Weed song

Lavender - You all know about this

Let us Begin - Solid track by 2 legends

Mount Kushmore - another weed song

I'm still here - Jamming (I don't know why I like this so much)

Love around the world  - Pretty good song  (would love to see a good video for this)

After a quick listen this is actually a dope album....it's everything within reason us westcoast fans want...you can tell snoop is done with trying and appealing to anyone outside of his core fan base for the most part...he did this for the fans for sure...no experimenting like bush or the snoop lion era or trying to stay relevant like the mac and devin and trap type songs catering to younger crowds...just exactly what his fans expect from him this far into his career...I wasn't even going to peep this so I'm pleasantly surprised

I agree with this and I think this should be the approach at this stage of his career.

I would love to see a whole Snoop album produced by Battlecat, Cat delivered on this project.

There's enough good music on here to prove Snoop still has it in him to make a decent album

Here is a great album;

Neva Left
Moment I Fear
Back in the Days
Promise you This
Go On
Toss It
420 Blaze Up
Lavender
Mount Kushmore
Still Here

There's a 10 track album that would sound pretty consistent and get really good ratings.  Not sure why Snoop always feels the need t throw these filler tracks on every album.  But either way, glad to get some new Snoop keepers.

Stand out tracks for me are

Neva Left
Back in the Days
Go On
Still Here

I haven't heard the album yet, but i've been bumpin' "Lavender" more than any song on "Coolaid".

BC Powda's best beat in years on Big Mouth... but I feel like the lyricism wasn't up to par

neva left

- very familiar sample (THE CHARMELS - AS LONG AS I'VE GOT YOU) that our ears got used to from wu tang's c.r.e.a.m. song.
- its not a complete track, sounds like an intro track.
- 3/5

moment i feared

- wack beat. i was expecting better from rick rock. its a beat any amateur beatmaker can do in 3 minutes.
- 1/5

bacc in da dayz

- this is real snoop doggy dogg shit, real eastsidaz shit. i thought its a meech wells beat first. damn it bangs.
- i don't know who the fuck J-Massive is but he did a good job on the beat.
- 5/5

promise you this

- not bad. sounds like 90s shit with leads and percussions.
- 3/5

trash bags

- an ordinary song.
- 3/5

swivel

- another dissapointing track by rick rock
- 3/5

go on

- a funky/summer track.
- 4/5

big mouth

- typical west coast beat by battlecat
- not a classic, not a trash.
- 3.5/5

toss it

- very similar song to "promise you this"
- good to hear too short and snoop dogg together
- 3/5

420 (blaze up)

- like it or not track. some will love it some will skip it depends on the mood.
- bc did a good job on talk box
- 3.5/5

lavender (nightfall remix)

- #$&£!!????
- 1/5

let us begin

- snoop, krs-one and battlecat meets for the very first time
- unfortunately result is dissapointing except of krs's monster verse
- 3/5

mount kushmore

- good song. legendary mcs and smooth beat.
- 4/5

vapors (battlecat remix)

- doggfather sound. bc and charlie wilson on it too.
- 4/5

i'm still here

- i can say this is the smash hit of album. no other comment.
- 4.5/5

love around the world

- catchy beat and hook.
- 4/5

overall i couldn't find what i expected. especially i was very excited when i heard bc on 5 tracks and rick rock on 2 tracks.

but both bc and rick couldnt show their best. im very dissapointed.
