Dre has been writing his own raps since 05 for detox, it's just most his best verses are written by actual lyricists. He started writing more on his own since he got rid of his old detox team of writers and none of these new guys are any good or understand dre as a artist so they write the wrong type of stuff for him.

those dre verses were cool, better than alot of other dre features from around that time but theyre not better than anything that slim the mobster, game/stat quo, bishop, hayes etc wrote for dre on detox.
