Is 50 cent overshadowing Eminem?
« on: May 19, 2003, 07:41:29 PM »

Who think's 50's success will stall Eminem.
I mean does anybody think the expectations are at it's highest point for Slim now...
his nexx lp might be make or break.

I think the media has found their new Icon...
50 Cent.

Personaly...I gotta go with 50, as far as material & endless possibility's he can acheive.
It kinda seems like Em alredy reached the nexus last year (2002). I can't really see him having a better year than that ever.

He peaked already, nexx is the downward spiral.

anybody else feel this coming..?

Em's next LP will still sell, although im not too sure about 50's

I agree with you about '02 being Em's best year, and he won't top it. I don't however think that he's gonna go "down", but will be as successful as he's always been, just not as good as last year.
50 Cent is probably not gonna have as good of a year as he's having right now.

....Just my opinion

i dont think 50 will ever be as big as eminem, but at the moment he is, and will probably be for the next year, im sure em dont mind, because hes producing it, and if eminem, drops an LP itll sell like no other

 ::) Still hurt from the Everlast-feud ?? This can't be healthy..  :P

As for the topic, I think there's place for both..

50 have joined "rap elite", and Eminem is already there..
Em doesn't really have nothing to prove any more, and as big as his popularity is, I can't see how a Eminem-album can sell less than 4 million..
And he has also proved that he doesn't rely on Dre, for those that thought Dre was the only reason he sold records.

As for 50, he seems ready for stardom..
He's a workaholic, and writes hits in every direction..

The other thing about Eminem is that he is developing a lot of other elements of his talent, not just rappin', but writing beats, developing new artists, ect.  Plus, and I love 50 and all, but lyrically Em is just outta his league, his shit just keeps gettin' tighter..just my opinion.

nah 50 is goin end up like DMX.  DMX pushed crazy units with his 1st 2 albums an its been down hill ever since.  He still goin plat but aint seeing the sucess of his 1st album.  Thats goin be 50.  50 mos likely never see the sucess he is seeing again in his career.  on to em.  if this is em's last album like he says its goin be ,  i think its goin be a classic.  See he's has to go pop on his albums to continue selling.  even if he didnt he still sell but he sell more with his pop appeal.  See this is his last album,  it will sell but there is no need to put out pop hits to keep the pop crowd.  I think hes goin come with just hip hop a put out a tru classic hip hop knows he is capable of putting out

lol 50 is a joke compared to eminem
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin
