Does she? I've literally never heard of her before the Dre association. And when I looked up her Wikipedia and such, it seems like she's mostly known for doing backing vocals for other artists, rather than her own music.
she was part of a successful r&b group called floetry they would be like the r&b equivalent of tha dogg pound
Fuck me. I just reread Marsha's Wikipedia. She signed with Dre in 2006. 2006. That's fucking 18 years ago. And she's just now releasing an album? Good Lord. When people say Dre takes forever to release projects, this is what we mean. Jesus God Damn Titty Fucking Christ, how much patience does this women have? And what the fuck is wrong with Dre? Was he just paying her a salary for all 18 years to do fucking nothing? How fucking rich is Dre that money apparently means nothing to him?
Once again l ask, who? Floetry? Never heard of them before Marsha's Dre association. I looked them up and didn't they make one album 25 years ago and then break up? I don't think they exactly set the world on fire. Let me put it this way. Who here on this forum has ever bought a Marsha album or a Floetry album prior to Marsha signing with Dre? I'm assuming almost no one.My point is, I don't think she has any kind of sizable fanbase and I don't think Dre's fanbase is going to buy an R&B album in large numbers (Truth Hurts, anyone?). I'm not trying to say I hope she bombs or whatever. I'm saying, I hope Dre set proper expectations for this album. I don't want Dre to scrap all his other projects right now, like Missionary and Kingmaker, because this album winds up being a very predictable commercial disaster.
kingmaker isn’t even a dre project bro and floetry had 2 moderately successful albums in the mid 2000syou probably won’t find floetry fans on a gangsta rap forum, no but in terms of popularity, let’s put it like this .. she has 400+ thousand followers on ig where as kurupt only has 200+ thousand so fans of r&b def know of floetry and just like we anticipate a new dogg pound record, they anticipate a new marsha record not saying it’s going to sell .. but at this point nothing really does unless it’s mainstream on some drake or nba youngboy shit it is what it is
I thought Kingmaker is a Dre project
as far as i remember kingmaker is xzibit and open bar …. dre might produce a few tracks but it’s not his project i could be wrong
Marsha is a well known R&B singer, what is unknown and what nobody cares about (outside of here) is her affliation to Dr.Dre
yeah - you do know that that Floetry wrote and gave "Butterflies" to Michael Jackson that he put on his Invincible album. The original which then came out later on the first Floetry album (released after Michaels album i believe if memory serves me correct). The group was known - not massive but known.
