the more I listen to it the more I think its the best track on the album...Rage and RBX killed it

but I want to know who wrote Snoops verse?

Always loved DPGC posse cuts, rare in west coast hip hop. Rage as always outshined errbody lol

Snoops verse doesn’t sound too crazy he probably wrote it himself with some help from RBX

I believe that

Always loved DPGC posse cuts, rare in west coast hip hop. Rage as always outshined errbody lol

I would rate them in this order

Rage
RBX
Kurupt
Snoop
Daz

but Daz was far from wack, he was always more flow than lyrics anyway

Brilliant album from the DPG in 2024. Don't compare it to Dogg Food. It's brilliant for what it is and 'Grown up' is my personal favourite.

PS. Can we all stop comparing this to the RBX album ffs, how has this thread turned into the 'RBX album was better'. Just enjoy what dropped!

Hope this comes out on CD...

I'm liking the video for Who tha Hardest?, its of a high quality and the black backgrounds and coloured captions make it stand out. I'll think of it everytime I play that track now.

her verse would definitely get a Hip Hop quotable for this in the Source had it still existed

As others are saying, Rage verse was amazing.  The album itself is quite good, especially considering it was so rushed.

Mike and Keys has some nice production on here.

While the album isn’t consistent, the “highs” are quality.  My personal favs are Grown Up (everyone lovin this it seems), House Party (lovin the Quik sample and sounds), Always on My Mind; and Who Da Hardest.

Everyone comparing this to RBX (and this was at the invitation of Sccit) but I can’t say which is better as I haven’t heard the RBX in its entirety.  While I liked what I heard, what on the RBX album is touching the above tracks I listed?

On that note; can’t wait until RBX album is on streaming so I can jam it all summer.  Most people I know just aren’t buying albums in 2024 (sorry Sccit) and I feel it’s a missed opportunity at this point to not have it on Spotify.

Dogg Pound AND. RBX in 2024?  Who would’ve thought

Daz and Kurupt on Drinks Champ.(this was done like 3 weeks ago and just released today on YouTube)

Their best interview so far since return to Deathrow.

They revealed a lot of things about the album and future projects.

I am only half way through but so far:

They claim Missionary is coming out next month (Strange)

Smoke Up was made for Kurupt’s solo album (when Daz came back, Snoop decided to use it for DPG album)

We all We Got with Tha Eastsidaz was for Eastsidaz album and Snoop gave it to them.

Some of the other tracks too were Snoop’s and he gave it to them.

Kurupt going to be releasing his own Solo project on Deathrow.

So them saying about when done under a month, means they have enough already done, just have them jump on it.

I like the concept, Like old Deathrow, when everyone sacrifice their product for the next project

Lady of Rage is probably the best female MC in Hip-Hop history.

“Necessary Roughness” is a classic DR album.

Rage had two Source quotables, July 1993 for 'Puffin on Blunts...' and one i think for 'Sho-shot'.

She's the only Death-Row inmate to get a standing ovation from the NY crowd during the 95 Source Awards -

The more I listen to Favorite Color Blue, the more I think how a bridge by Nate Dogg at the end would have closed the track out perfectly.

Also they need to do a Crip megamix of that record with a load of Crip rappers asap.  Or get a remix with E-40 and Too $hort so it can get poppin in the clubs in the Bay.

It was Microphone Pon Cok

AllHipHop.com: One of the little known moments was the b-side to “Dre Day,” called “Puffin’ on Blunts and Drankin’ Tanqueray.” This freestyle with you, Tha Dogg Pound, and Dre was classic. Tell me about that moment…

Lady of Rage: Those days were just…I don’t know if magic is the word. There was just a vibe. Dre used to make beats, and I would always walk in and say, “I don’t like that beat” – from the gate. I was always the one complainin’. But when I walked in that day, and I heard that track, I was like, “I like that!” Blunts and Tanqueray were circulating, and we just did it. I’m at a loss for words. I think I got [The Quotable] in The Source that month for that. I’ve gotten that twice. The other was, “Microphone Pon C##.”
