The Game Mixtape Era (2004-2013)
« on: September 05, 2024, 03:30:08 AM »
Recently rediscovered some of Game's mixtapes and realized how much of a run he had back then. Shit, from the mixtape-mixtape days in '04/'05 until the early '10s when he basically started dropping free albums back to back. Game kinda is the West Coast version of Rick Ross imo, at least in terms of quality control: Say what u want about them, but they both had(/have) a great ear for production and managed to drop a lot of quality music.

I loved the whole YouKnowWhatItIs series + the G-Unit diss tapes (Ghost Unit and Stop Snitchin' Stop Lyin'), but my favorite ones r prolly Brake Lights, HoodMorning (No Typo) and Purp & Patron – simply because they sounded like actual albums.

What's y'all favorite Game mixtape(s)?

Going thru all his mixtape stuff I realized that my favorite project prolly is the Sunday Service series – not a single wack song. They eventually turned the tracks into a mixtape too, but I didn't count it as a real mixtape when I made this thread 😅
Remastered it the other day btw, in case anyone is interested lmk  8)
