I'm to the understanding that if you have a mod chip in your ps2, or xbox, you can burn the games directly on a dvd burner, and they work with no editing? I know when dreamcast games were being ripped, they had to have shit taken out of the to fit on cd. But I heard that xbox and ps2 both work with direct copies. I'm assuming the same applies for the rips you are downloading off the net.

Most PS2 games are in DVD format, so you probably need a DVD burner.

Um no ...you dont have to have a dvd burner....

....most games can be ripped to bin + cue....if you download them then they withh most likely be in rar format then unrar to bin n cue (cd image)

piece of cake to rip a game....not that i did it illegally ;)

used to make my own backup cd's all the time like this...if you want to rip blindread and blindwrite are the best in the game because they ignore the bad tracks placed on disks as copywright protection by the gaming companies...

anyway enuff info lol im a good girl now..i got a gamecube and cant possibly back those cd's up !

The mod chip is harder nowadays as alot of companies selling them have to be more careful than when the ps2 first came out...as have alot of the sites that advocated "making backup copies" and "helped" you to do so.

Try www.modchip.com   (if it still exists) very fast reliable service....

....it used to be a factor af soldering 8 wires onto the mainboard (quite fiddly than ever before ie ps1) and away you go....

....get one of those cheat cd's too maybe ...allows disk swap method to be used without damaging / loss of information.

So you can actually burn them onto a CD-R?

Lmao...

...ok have never tried this its a new version...

...looks pretty much along the lines of the swap disc method i talked about when u insert and load a cheat cd...then go to load a cheat...swap discs then boot it...

...seems plausable bro...but im not 100% sure..but then again it is modchip.com and i do trust them 100%...

...what you could do is drop them a line ...quote your serial number / ps2 version and ask them...they should e-mail you back with the answer you need bro..

...i had the magic chip n wired it up....was damn fine for me...had over 400 "backups" both imports and not...also no probs with psone games (tho why you would want to play them on a superior console is amazing..apart from the odd nostalga trip)

...if i were to get one now thought, id get the usbmod....no hasstles...easy to use n install..doesnt break your warrenty! just buy the action replay 2 disks and away you go!

hope that helps
