Pharaohe Monch's "top-secret" independant/supergroup project
« on: August 20, 2003, 06:56:00 PM »
He said he's not optimitic about his LP coming anytime soon and that he's working on a group project with two other elite MCs that "going to be huge".

Any ideas on who they could be?  I have a hunch on one of them.

I'm gonna guess Mos Def as one of them...im sure they realize they have good chemistry together on the mic. damn...this shit could end up dope depending on who they get as the other two...

I thought Mos Def and Black Thought.. though I'm not really that keen on this.
Would rather have a Pharoahe solo..

why wont his solo album be out soon???

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

I'm thinking the other two will be Common & Black Thought. Remember the freestyle at the end of disc 1 of the first lyricist lounge compilation, those three along with Absolute said that they were going to release a supergroup album. Maybe they are just gonna do it without Absolute.

At one time he was a part of a rumored "supergroup" called Psychic Friends, which included: Black Thought, Common, Jeru & himself.
