lets not remember all this controversy about Korea.  Lets not remember all the linemans mistakes.  Lets remember the World Cup 2002 as it should be.  Fantastic.

There was a lack of real quality, apart from Brazil, but honestly y'all, I can remember all of France and USA, and South Korea/Japan was far more memorable than those World Cups.  We had a good Final for once.

The memories will live longer than France '98 or USA

Senegal dancing around after they'd pulled off the biggest shock of all time

The Korean fans

Mexico beating down Kobi Jones

The emergence of the USA

Robbie Keane's last minute goal against Germany (Get in!)

Ahn's Golden Goal against Italy

Joao Pinto punching the ref

The return of Ronaldo

Ronaldinho's free kick against England

Sukur after 10 seconds

Batistuta crying

Beckham's penalty

It was dramatic, there was highpoints and lowpoints but this World Cup was far better than France '98 or USA '94

not really

You're sort of missing my point - and that is the World Cup is all about memories

It's not about everything going 100% right all the time and no mistakes being made

But really how many games did we see really really crappy refs and linesman?

Spain vs S.Korea
Italy vs S.Korea
Italy vs Croatia

Those were the out and out awful refereeing matches

There was also questionable decision(s) in:

Mexico vs USA
Italy vs Mexico
Germany vs Cameroon was a mess
Brazil vs Turkey (first one)

Other stuff like Ronaldinho getting sent off was arguable

But honestly, study your World Cup history books (lol) and you'll see that controversy over Referees follows every World Cup like a stalker.

I agree, this has been a good world cup, not the best, but it has been good, and it has been the last world cup for many great players, Maldini, Batistuta, Cafu, Seaman, Desailly, Hierro, Bierhoff, Chilavert and Henrik Larsson could have all played their last world cup matches, and a grip of young players played in their first  world cup, overall a good tournament.
