Dam, I was expecting him to go gold first week out, oh well...250,000+ ain't that bad...that's about what Ja Rule sold first week with his last album...

haha....ja went platinum didn't he?

well my predictions of 500K was off...but 250K is good...especially with a single like got some teeth (which wasn't that good)....anyone know what the next single will be (probably one of eminem's or  one with nate dogg)

dissapointing?? a year ago nobody knew who that dude was! how can u call this dissapointing? most artist DREAM of sellin even 10,000 the first week obie got 255 he should be hella happy!

Word.
You can't expect much more than 250K with a rather weak first single..

With 250 the first week, he's already guaranteed platinum more or less, and that's not bad at all from a rapper from Detroit.

I knew Obie would struggle to sell big on his first week
cause he is following up to 50's album and that is a bit
of a challenge. Also I would think of promotion could be
a factor aswell cause I only knew Obies release date
was because of this site, there was hardly any promo
of it over here in the UK man they still promoting 50's
album and that came out in Feb'

those are dope numbers , i mean Obie has less main stream apeal than 50 and Em ,had less promotion and a weak/average single

Obie's album was great by the way

obies album debut was great sales wise........not many new cats sell this much with their 1st week sales being new, his gone def go plat now........but i dont think they promoted him well at all, jus promoted him by mentionin eminem and those gold tickets.............plus i doubt theyd want him to get as big as 50, they would want him to be big, jus not as big.........plus he doesnt appeal worldwide as much, 50 got alot mo about him....even if his lyrics aint anythin special

peace

Thats pretty good for Obie's first week IMO.....He outsold people like Snoop, Busta Rhymes and Fat Joe's first week sales.....

All you gotta do is be down with Eminem nowadays and your guaranteed to push mad units.

It's not bad for any rapper from anywhere. Hell, with that first single that he released I'm suprised it sold that much. Dope song, but it's not exactly club or radio material. Plus, you know since Eminem is Willy Wonka now, people are buying the album in hopes they will get that golden ticket.
