Surprised at Hi-Tek & Khalil's beats... not up to their regular caliber.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

It's strange that there is no Eminem production.

Yeah, especially after the rumours that Dre should have booted Storch for stealing beats..  :)

The dre and storch songs are probably just old beats.

"Poppin' them thangs" sounds pretty much what Dre described the Detox-sound as..
Opera-inspired.. violins.. operasinger as part of the beat..
I'd be surprised if this is not a fairly new beat.

i guess since mel split dre called scott back, haha.........funny how as soon as melman leaves scotts back in the light

imo..............

sickest producer obviously is dre............but i think melman is close..........his sicker than scott and the rest cuz he got funk in his shit to...............he co produced all of 2001 which niggaz always forget, he dont get props he deserves..........but im hopin melman sorts his shit out with dre and gets some more credits n shit and more responsibility and then u got dre, mel, scott and mike and kambora..........thats pretty sick

LOL @ better. Have you heard Hi Tek's work with Talib Kweli & Snoop, etc. and Khalil's work with Self-Scientific or Strong Arm Steady? Those beats are way better than the G-Unit beats.
