Well Caine is a good actor, and probably will do a good job as Alfred.
I just cant see him as that character, hope he surprises me. Peace

(Michael Gough is his name.)

I'm guessing he's more or less retired. Dude was born in 1917. That or he just didn't want to play that role anymore. OR he's dead. Last movie he did was in 1999 according to IMDB.
