who wants help bring back a web site from the dead
« on: December 13, 2003, 12:24:34 AM »
today on my break from work someone asked me if i ever had a website. at first i said naw, i 'm too busy to keep a website. but then i remembered me murrow, and a few other dudes had "hip hop Reviewed". Then i got online to see if it was still up still, but i noticed that Dubcnn used ALL of our westcoast reviews on our cd's. so i thought to myself " why did the site fail"

1. none of us were THAT into the site. either we'd drag our feet on reviews or some of the staff (if you could call it that) was never online and didn't contribute

2. i remember we kept getting hacked and getting our sited fucked up

3. there was never any cd's coming out, therefore not much inspiration .....also the forum was in a slump and not many people supported the site

but i think if we made the site a more open place , i.e. allow many people to contribute to the site like public contributions (of corse we'd have to regulate what got on the site and what doesn't for crediblity's sake) , and created a site more like www.allmusic.com or  a www.ultimate-guitar.com . something with a searchable database of many artists with bios and such, and essays on different subgenres in hip hop, and importatnt albums  and stuff . if we did it like this the site would be banging. i think it'd be a good branch off of dubcnn.com and the forum. plus since dubcnn.com  is good at getting artist's interviews and shit i think we could have them contribute  some kind of top 10 list. for example "Knoc's top 10 rap albums of all time" "sly boogie's top 10 favorite current jamz" "snoop's top 10 favorite collaborations" " nate dogg's favorite hooks" ect.

anyways with all taht said

i'd like to be one of the editors of the site, but i'd want at least 3 or 4 more editors; an ultra underground westcoast head, a dpg head, a bay area head, and maybe someone who's all of the above....to insure balance.

then we'd need a tight ass site designer who could create an attractive looking site and could add things every time we updated.

then most important of all we'd need a lot of contributions , essays, cd reviews, and commentary on beefs and shit.

if anyone is down for doing this let me know on AIM : heinouzhak661 or get at me on this post.

Well i'd done plenty of reviews that I have posted in the album review section of this board, but they are mainly of eastcoast releases from what I can remember. But if you wanna include eastcoast releases as well on your site, which might also help with the inspiration thing, as there will be more stuff coming out, rather than just focusing on west coast albums then i'd be done for sure.
