Producer Of The Year?

Drop your top three(3), only with reasons.

In no order:

Kanye West. His work on the Black Album, his up coming album, Twistas, T.I.'s, well above average. The beats on his mixtapes were knocking.

Lil Jon. Running Hip Hop right now, period. "Damn," "Quick To Back Down," "I Don't Give A Fuck," "Knockin' Heads Off," "Throw It Up," etc.

Neptunes. "What Happened To That Boy" is still one of the hardest beats this year. I don't care what anyone says, their production on that Star Trak album knocked, especially "Rock n Roll." The Kelis track is a hot beat, too.

All of these producers weren't hitting us with the same beat 10 times over.

Honorable mention: R.Kelly. Though he's an R & B producer, he had the hits knocking this year.

My #1 is definitely Stoupe. He did great work this year and was involved in two of the best releases of 2003: "Rip The Jacker" and "Visions Of Ghandi". Furthermore he did two classic-beats in my eyes: "Poet Laureate II" and "Animal Rap".

My #2 is Kanye West for the same reasons as SGV mentioned before.

My #3 is Eminem. Although many people hate on his productions, he did great work on "8 Mile", and after that on "Get Rich Or Die Tryin", "Cheers", "The Black Album", etc.

I was thinking Stoupe, but I haven't heard all of Rip The Jacker yet.

Here's why I didn't pick Em:

All of these producers weren't hitting us with the same beat 10 times over.

1. DJ Premier - he did The Ownerz, along with Royce's new single...and a few other random tracks throughout the year that were hot.

2. Kanye West - same as SGV said

3. 9th Wonder - Little Brother, God's Stepson, Threats (off the black album)...nuff said.

Haven't decided on the 3 yet but an honorable mention for Swizz for switching from catchy Nintendo tunes to professional studio tracks. :)
Also, Dre did a good job on 50 Cent's In Da Club and Eve's Satisfaction. No one else mentioned him? ???
