Info On Royce's New Album...
« on: January 13, 2004, 02:55:00 PM »
Detroit-based MC Royce Da 5'9" will release his second album, "Death Is Certain," Feb. 24 via Koch Records. The 14-track album is the official follow-up to Royce's 2002 debut "Rock City."

Royce followed "Rock City" with two mix-tape releases last year, "Build & Destroy" and "M.I.C. Mixtape Vol. 1," but he considers "Death Is Certain" his sophomore LP. Royce peppers the new album with personal commentary, and in a rare move in today's industry, eschewed appearances from high-profile guest rappers.

Producers include previous Royce collaborator DJ Premier, Asar, Reef, Ty Fyffe and Carlos "6 July" Broady, a veteran of P. Diddy's Hitmen production team. The Broady-helmed tracks include a remake of the Notorious B.I.G. song "What's Beef" (here titled simply "Beef").

Other cuts on "Death Is Certain" include "Regardless," "Throwback," "What I Know," "Bomb 1st," "I & Me," "T.O.D.A.Y." and first single "Hiphop."

"Rock City" peaked at No. 29 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in December 2002.

lookin forward as fuck
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

royce better bring some lyrical heat, hotter than his first album, cuz on Rock City, he had some dope ass production by Primo, Just Blaze, and just about everyone else.
