Am I the only one that wouldn't classify either as underrated because both had sold lots of albums in their day, and are considered legends now. In the future, people will say the same about Nas and Ice Cube. Underrated, yet both had a period were they dominated their rap era. De La Soul and Naughty came out in a great era of rap when everyone was dropping classics and showing off great skillz. Both in their time were well respect in one of raps greatest eras. Now kids only like what they hear now, so of course they'd pick up a newer artist. Hell if Naughty, De La Soul and Fabolous all released an album today, Fabolous would outsell them both, just like back in 1993 Cypress Hill would outsell both Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 and Kurtis Blow. Just happens that way, out of sight, out of mind.

That is what this whole thread is about ::).. stoopid!

They are underrated, because when people talk about Dope emcees, Pos and Treach are never brought up. Pos was Mos Def, before Mos Def, IMO. Treach has always had one of the illest flows ever. He could adapt to any style track. From some gritty Jersey shit, to some gangsta West Coast shit. Always dug Tracherous.

It's just happens that way. People forget old great sports players, musicians and politicians. Our popular culture doesn't respect the old school, just steal from it, and reshape it and call it original for biting something no one bit before. It's sad
