Yeah, there's a bunch.  Like people saying inanimate things are 'getting ready', as in "The bells getting ready to ring" or "My car's getting ready to run out of gas", or "It's getting ready to rain".  

Another one is when you greet somebody, you always ask them a question you don't want to know the answer to, and they always tell you what you want to hear as opposed to what they really think.  

"Hey Bob, how's it going"

"Good, how are you?"

"Good"

It's never true, but if Bob went "Man, my back hurts, breakfast was pretty good today, but I think i'm going to have to work late.  Mary's got a doctors appointment, and Jamie's having all kids of trouble in her math class"

You'd think he was crazy.  We ask people how they are, but don't really give a shit.
