« on: April 15, 2004, 07:02:03 PM »
Method Man, Redman, Joe Budden (all Def Jam artists) have dissed Def Jam in various tracks, latest Joe Budden dedicating a whole track to them on a new mixtape..
Keith Murray got fired after beating up some Def Jam employees..

Kool G Rap protege Junx da Juvy recently left Def Jam, with the press release:
"Def Jam, you're fired!"

lol
Seems like they're slipping..

add on!
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

I remember Jayo Felony saying in an interview once that Def Jam told him how to make a gangsta-album. He was like "fuck 'em!"

So I guess you can add Jayo to that list too.

LMAO, dope press release.

Yep, still does to this day I believe.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
