Mo Thugs – Family Scriptures

1. Intro…Tight intro by Tre’.  Good opening track.
2. Searchin’ 4 peace…Cool, laidback beat.  Poetic Hustlaz represent well on this track.  Good hook.  4/5
3. Ghetto bluez…Tight mellow, slow beat.  II Tru flow pretty well, but Layzie really sets it off with his verse.  3.5/5
4. Killing fields…The production fits the Graveyard Shift perfectly.  The piano gives the track an eerie concept.  4/5
5. Mo’ murda…The best track on the album.  Krayzie harmonizes perfectly over both of the different beats.  The short interlude in the middle of the track is a nice set-up for the new beat to come in.  5/5
6. Ain’t no reason…Soft track featuring Ken Dawg talking about women.  3/5
7. Take your time…A good R&B song.  Krayzie’s cool 5 short verses adds a lot to it.  3.5/5
8. Welcome to my world…Nice loop on the beat.  Features II Tru and Ken Dawg.  3.5/5
9. Thug devotion…Nice work on the sampling of Earth Wind & Fire’s ‘Devotion’.  Souljah Boy and Ken Dawg display their flowing abilities along with Layzie and Krayzie.  4.5/5
10.   Here with me…A slow paced R&B track with Tre’.  Nothing exceptional.  2/5
11.   Playa in me…Has a 70’s pimp track feel to it.  Ken Dawg lays down a tight flow.  3.5/5
12.   No pretender…A dope fuck the police song with Mo Thugs and Krayzie Bone.  Krayzie spits a hella tight verse at the end.  4.5/5
13.   Rumors & war…Another good job on production with Graveyard Shift.  Flesh spits a tight verse.  4/5
14.   II Tru…Catchy hook, but average lyrics.  3/5
15.   Low down…Simple beat and Soulah Boy does an average job with his verse.  Krayzie spits one of the tightest verses ever on the second verse.  He makes this song.  4/5
16.   Family scriptures…Track features all of the Mo Thugs.  Decent production and decent flow.  3.5/5

OVERALL…7/10

Pretty good album for a compilation.  Krayzie Bone stands out more than anybody else with some tight ass flows.  Graveyard Shift really stand out also.  II Tru and Ken Dawg don’t really bring anything new to the table.  I would have liked to see Bizzy on a couple of songs.  A few tracks worth skipping, but plenty more worth listening to.

Your tracklist for this album is fucked up?...I remember the day it came out, one of my crackaz got it and we were talkin' about the tight songs on there.  He didn't even know what I was talkin' about....his CD was missing like track 5, 12, 13, and 15!

LOL...I just realized I had the edited version of II Tru's "New breed of female" the other day.  Don't you hate that shit!
