One of the greatest duos in rap history most definitely...The are the most consistant through all there albums. Guru the monotone rapper from West Roxbury Mass. and Premier from NYC..Some of the illest to   do it..

i love gangstarr...premo is my favorite producer (along with 9th) and guru as a rapper is amazing.

Definetly pionners in the game. They also have actual thoughts in their heads besides "I'ma shoot you in the face and pop Cris". you don't see that many intelligent hip hop groups have such longevity and continue to make hits over the years like Gangstarr has.

Premo's from Texas I'm pretty sure.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
