"I went on tour with Kweli, and all he played was 50 Cent"

That's what Kanye said in the new XXL..

Hiphopsite.com:

A NEW ALBUM? MOS DEFINITELY.....

Great news for hip-hop fans as Blackstar is coming back! Well, sort of. While Talib Kweli's The Beautiful Struggle has already been tabbed with a definite September 28 release date, his Blackstar pal Mos Def plans to release The New Danger, his next solo album, just two weeks later on October 12, which will ALSO unofficially coincide with the official re-release of Urban Thermo Dynamic's (Mos Def, DCQ, & Ces) lost classic, Manifest Destiny, which will see release October 26th, via Illson Media. In addition to the new solo album (not to mention the various acting roles that Mos Def has been involved in lately), Mos Def should also be launching a tour sometime after the album drops. Talib, meanwhile, is currently scheduled to open up shows for the Beastie Boys on their "To the 5 Boroughs" tour... -

50 Cent >>> Kweli

You're funny ;D
Anyway, yeah, I've heard it before that Kweli is really into 50. And if I remember right, I think 50 gave props to Kweli in that XXL issue where he was the guest-editor.

fuck that categorizin shit, I'm not really into 50 (no more), but i think it's dope that this seperation into the stereotypes of "gangsta" and "conscious" is not ubiquitous in hiphop...i remember sumbody said that back in the days u could put sumbody like Kane or Kool G Rap on the same stage as KRS-ONE for example...50 & Kweli on the same stage in front of the same crowd seeming kind of absurd is actually sad IMO, so I'm glad artists give each other props like that

how's that strange. 50 makes good music. he isnt the most talented rapper as such, but the music is pretty good. that makes him kind of the opposite of ras kass.

And I won't waste my time fitting in

No, it's not a sin

Good to see a confirmed date for Kweli and Mos, and I didn't realise that UTD album was being re-released so I'll be picking that up as well.

As for Kweli liking 50, I've got no problem with that, it's his choice if he wants to listen to it, as long as it doesn't effect his own music then it doesn't really effect me. But to Smurf and Sikx, if you truly believe that 50 is better than Kweli then I think there is something very wrong with both of you.
