I never thought it meant much. Some remixes helped catapult artists, like Biggie on Craig Mack's song, but Biggie would have made it anyway.

Yeah, nowadays a remix is more of a Part 2 of a song... R. Kelly is the #1 artist in 'remixing' his tracks lol

But if you just keep your eye open you can still find good remixes here and there. I usually like those remixes of R&B or hip hop songs that they turn into a trance song

yeah remixes were used to make songs better or add a new flavor to it...

now its just about gettin a newer hot artist or on the track. or if the track didnt do so good then add an artist who has a reputation for blowing songs up.
