Yeah, when I first heard it a few tracks stood out, but having listened to it a load more times, I am actually really feeling this album. The rock influence isn't too much that its overpowering, and I actually really enjoy Mos's singing voice. I think the definite influences from other styles of music, mixed with a few straight hiphop bangers spread throughout the album actually makes this a really dope album.

no way.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

Haven't heard New Danger yet but it wouldn't surprise me. The Love Below was very unoriginal, he just ripped off other people's styles. And Mos's voice is like 50 times better than Andre's.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

mos is good...

but dre.. he got like 4 songs on it thats a big ass metaphor..and dre was jus bullshittin his whole album and it was nice..imo he didnt rip nobody's style..all the stuff dre did on his album started with aquemini.. so i guess he figured he should experiment with the stuff he did on liberation, synthesizer, mrs. jackson, stankonia, toilet tisha, and a couple of other songs..'

love above= an experiment gone good

  • don status, bitch
that's kinda retarded to say dre ripped a bunch of people's style when i listen to new danger mos ripped a lot more.

imo i like dre's album alot more, mos' s album seemed to flow a lot less and at some points it felt like it was missing soul, but dre's album, man that was like ear drum sex.

(apart from Andre as a singer) i agree. I liked the Mos Def, but he did indeed rip just as many styles in a way (and recycled two beats) and "Love Below" was more entertaining and overall interesting to me...Mos was still good tho

Well I haven't quite finished New Danger, but I'm liking it way more than The Love Below. Especially that Blue Black Jack song, I thought Buddy Guy was playing on that it was so good.

ok.. so mos def over those beats would be cool for a mixtape.. but just throwing them on his album.. not a good choice.. imo
