the point system.. wouldnt it be an easier way to just assign points according to the ranking it is on the list. so the number one song gets one point, and number two gets two.. in the end, wouldnt the most favorite song just have the least score, since it'd just be a bunch of like 1's and 2's. and u can just arrange the list from lowest score to highest score, with the lowest being the #1 song. .. this should work but i havent really thought of the logistics of it, so correct me if im wrong.. but yeah i think it should work.

nope, that wouldn't work. cause let's say 5 people say song A is their no. 1-> song A gets 5 points overall. 3 people say song B is their fav -> song B gets 3 points, but then that'd mean song B > song A...see
