Need Advice On Metaphors/Punchlines

I love both of these elements in songs but when I used to try to think of them when I would write they sucked, I looked back at my past shit I wrote and none of my songs had these elements so what makes great metaphors and punchlines 'cause I have a subtle sense of humor and I'm trying to explore it when I write nowadays.
