Is anyone else ready to admit...
« on: December 26, 2004, 10:11:46 PM »
That Gwen Stefani is a true original?  She keeps coming up with creative riffs and choruses, and her whole vibe from her voice to her sing songy choruses and things is totally original, never heard anything like it.  Really funky.  Her new album continues all the good things from the her career in No Doubt, and shows that she's the primary creative force behind the band, which is rare for a frontman to be so solid and consistant, much less a female frontman.

My favorite line in the new album?

"Lemme heah you say, This Shit is Bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S" then she starts repeating it, lol.

shes rehashing old styles which nobody is doing anymore but that doesnt make it original. Her album is really quite bad and i was waiting on it after rocksteady being so good (except for the first 2 singles, of course)

The album is decent, yet being a fan of hers AND No Doubt as a band, I was disappointed. I don't find it extremly original, she has a lot of talent, which she shows at times, but not as much as she could or used to. Also, I don't think the style she's started using fits her as much as the one she/they used to have. "Tragic Kingdom" is a classic and original album, and in comparison her solo doesn't really look too good

the music she makes isn't original really... the fact that she throws all those styles of pop music on one disc is original though...

It's okay. Some heaters and the rest I wasn't feelin'. It's not original, but a breath of fresh air.

A few times I been around that Track, so it's not just cool to hop in like that, I ain't no Hollaback Girl.... Ooooooooh, This My Shit... This My Shit...

That's not original?  Nobody else writes like that.

Lemme Heah You Say This SHIT Is Bananas..b-a-n-a-n-a-s

Nobody has the balls to make stupid hooks like that, totally original.

She made Harajuku girls a theme of the whole album and several songs.  Original.

She dresses original, and comes up with music that doesn't sound like anybody else on the radio.  Totally original.

Who else could pimp that Biggie beat like that without being unfavorably compared to Biggie's track?  "Workin' So Hard every night and day, just to get the payback... workin' so hard savin' up the paper, now we get to layback".... "Cha CHING... Cha CHING... We're loaded and we're not gonna Blow It"
