Albums: Ironman (1996); Supreme Clientele (2000); Bulletproof Wallets (2001); Shaolin's Finest (2003)

Gravediggaz
Other Names: n/a
Notes: First considered a side project of The RZA. The Gravediggaz were brought together by Hip Hop producer Prince Paul shortly after "Enter the 36 Chambers". They are attributed to being the pioneers of the horrorcore sound after their debut release "6 Feet Deep". Prince Paul (aka The Undertaker, Dr. Strange) took a backseat role during the group's next album before leaving the group altogether.
Later it was reported that RZA (aka RZArector) too had left the group. Shabazz The Disciple and Omen were called in as replacements, and rumor had it that a new album was recorded. This album was never in fact released (maybe even recorded). Shabazz and Omen toured Europe as brief members of the Gravediggaz but are no longer associated with this group.
The Gravediggaz then became a duo as the two remaining "core" members Poetic (aka Grym Reaper) and Frukwan (aka Gate Keeper) kept the 'Diggaz name alive. This was until Poetic's untimely death in 2001.
Albums: [Unreleased Demo Tape] (1993); 6 Feet Deep (aka Niggamortis) (1994); The Pick, The Sickle, And The Shovel (1997); Nightmare In A-Minor (2001)

GZA/Genius
Other Names: Justice, The Head, Allah Justice, Maximillion
Notes: The first Wu MC to record an album. His "Words From The Genius" came out a few years before the Clan's official release. GZA was one of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, and aside from RZA, is considered the group's main figurehead.
Albums: Words From The Genius (1991); Liquid Swords (1995); Beneath The Surface (1999); Legend of the Liquid Sword (2002)

Hell Razah
Other Names: Heaven Razah, Lazarus, Israel The Arch Angel, Tha Young Rabbi, Young Razah
Notes: Sunz Of Man MC. Hell Razah has made a number of Wu album appearances which include GZA's "Beneath The Surface", Ghostface's "Supreme Clientele", and U-God's "Golden Arms Redemption".
Albums: When All Hell Breaks Loose (2001)

Inspectah Deck
Other Names: Rebel INS, Fifth Brother, Rollie Fingers, Ayatollah, Manifesto
Notes: Primarily an MC who also produces beats for many Clan affiliates. Inspectah Deck's debut album was marred by frequent setbacks and label problems. Often considered the group's underdog (or unsung hero).
Named after Ector Clouseau from the "Pink Panther" cartoons.
Albums: Uncontrolled Substance (1999); The Movement (2003)

Islord
Other Names: Thief of Bagdad
Notes: One of the original MC's for the supergroup United Kingdom. Islord was absent for most of Killarmy's "Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars" recording, but played a greater role in the group's subsequent releases.
He was incorrectly credited as being an assistant engineer on Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..." album. Islord was merely present at the time.
Albums: n/a

Jamie Sommers
Other Names: n/a
Notes: Female MC signed to RZA's "Razor Sharp" label. First heard on Ghostface Killah's "Ironman" album, and later on RZA's "Bobby Digital" projects.

Albums: n/a

JoJo Pellegrino
Other Names: Joey Soprano
Notes: MC signed to Ghost's "Starks Enterprise" label.
Albums: n/a

Killah Priest
Other Names: Masada, Iron Sheik, Lord Messiah
Notes: Sunz Of Man MC and popular solo artist. Killah Priest's claim to fame are his super-complex religious-tinged lyrics. Once teamed with Shabazz The Disciple as the duo Disciples of Armageddon. KP is also balancing his solo career between committments with the Sunz Of Man, The Maccabees, and The Four Horsemen.
His reported fued with the Wu-Tang (particularly RZA) has been the subject of much recent interest. This lead to his [possibly forced] absence from the Sunz Of Man's "Savior's Day" album.
This being said, RZA has confirmed that their falling out was on a business and not a personal level. KP's affiliation with the Wu now seems to have been re-affirmed.
Albums: Heavy Mental (1998); View From Masada (2000); Priesthood (2001); Black August (2003); Black August Revisited (2003)

Killarmy
Other Names: n/a
Notes: Well known Wu group comprising of 9th Prince, Islord, Beretta 9, Killa Sin, P.R. Terrorist, and ShoGun Assassin. Their debut release "Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars" was the first album to be released by the "Priority" distributed "Wu-Tang Records".
Most of the group members are from New York, but Beretta 9 and ShoGun Assason are from Ohio. 9th Prince is the younger brother of The RZA. Production duties for this group are primarily handled by 4th Disciple.
All the Killarmy members are currently working on solo albums.
Albums: Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars (1997); Dirty Weaponry (1998); Fear, Love & War (2001)

Killa Sin

Albums: n/a

Albums: Heist of the Century (1998)

Lounge Mode
Other Names: Lounger, Loungin' Lo
Notes: Othorized F.A.M. MC signed to "Code Red Entertainment". Lounge has been connected with the Wu since their very beginning (his earliest reference was on GZA's "Pass The Bone").
Albums: n/a

Majestic 12
Other Names: n/a
Notes: Duo comprising of Wu producer C12 and his wife Madam Majestic. C12 (aka Carlos Bess, Dr. Ben Casey) has produced for Shabazz The Disciple, Celestial Souljahz and Ghostface Killah.
Madam Majestic has provided vocals for Ghostface's "Supreme Clientele" and Wu-Tang's "The W" albums.
Albums: n/a

The Manchuz

Notes: Low-key Clan MC. Was once considered the honorary ninth member of the team. Nowadays MK is a fully fledged member and had made numerous album appearances with Wu-Tang and non-Wu artists alike.
Known to be a strict vegetarian.
Albums: n/a

Master Fool
Other Names: Master Fuol
Notes: MC and member of the group D.R.U.G. Master Fool is a very close associate of rapper Thirstin Howl III and is also part of Howl's "Spit Squad".
Formerly spelt his name as Master Fuol.

Mathematics
Other Names: Allah Mathematics, The 5th Pupil
Notes: Producer who's works include tracks by Wu-Tang Clan, Cappadonna, Ghostface Killah, and Killarmy amongst many others. Also the originator of the now famous "Wu" logo.
Albums: Love, Hell or Right (Da Come Up) (2003)

Method Man
Other Names: Tical, Methtical, Shakuan, Iron Lung, Hot Nikkels, Hot Nixon, Ghost Rider, The MZA, Long John Silver, Johnny Blaze
Notes: Perhaps the most popular and recognisable of all the Wu MC's. Method Man was the first member to release a solo album after the success of "Enter The 36 Chambers". He furthered his career by recording with a string of artists inside and outside his Wu family (and continues to do so today).
Method Man also produces from time to time, and more recently he has delved into an acting career.

Raekwon

Royal Fam
Other Names: Royal Famous
Notes: Group comprising of Dark Denim (aka Dark Ages), Dreddy Kruger, Mighty Jarret, Stoneface (aka Sharekka), and Timbo King. A lot of confusion has existed over the exact members of this group. It was even suggested that Popa Wu was once a member. Early radio freestyles featuring Royal Fam featured some unknown artists. Two of which were Roc and Jahrule (not of the Murderers Inc.) - both were present on the track "Army Brickaid" from Royal Fam's unofficial debut release. Timbo King has made mention that the Royal Fam consists of many members (not just the ones which have been mentioned). Certainly the presence of Roc and Ja Rule would support this statement.
Timbo King is undoubtedly the group's main MC handling the majority of rhyming duties. Dreddy has also made a number of Wu album appearances. Dark Denim released a solo track early in his career called "Doin' Our Thang" featuring Lord Smooth, under the name Dark Ages.
Early in their inception, a project called "Black Castle" was rumored to have been recorded, and was to be jointly distributed by "Capitol Records" and "Wu-Tang Records". "Black Castle" even had a "catalogue number" (a right which is reserved only for completed albums, EP's or singles). This would suggest some truth to this mystery, but as yet, only a handful of tracks from this supposed album has been released.
In early 2000, bootleg copies of a Royal Fam album was released in Europe and was subsequently made available worldwide, without the knowledge of the group itself.
Albums: Yesterday, Today, Iz Tomorrow (Bootleg Release) (2000)

The RZA
Other Names: Prince Rakeem, Bobby Digital, The Abbott, Ruler Zig-Zag-Zig Allah, RZArector, Bobby Steels
Notes: If Raekwon is the most "copied" MC, then RZA would be the most "copied" Producer of all time. He is responsible for the majority of the Wu's day to day operations.
RZA is the mastermind behind the Wu sound and the entire Wu concept.
Albums: RZA As Bobby Digital In Stereo (1998); RZA As Bobby Digital: Digital Bullet (2001); The World According To RZA (2003); RZA As Bobby Digital: Birth of a Prince (2003)

Shabazz The Disciple
Other Names: Holy Psychiatrist, Scientific Shabazz
Notes: Former "Last Future" MC, and also once a part of the Disciples of Armageddon (with Killah Priest). Shabazz was "discovered" by The RZA - and has roots leading into many Wu groups (Sunz Of Man, Gravediggaz, United Kingdom). Shabazz has stated in interviews that he has amassed enough material for over 7 albums, but has maintained that he will wait for the right label deal before releasing his long awaited debut.
Though formerly maintained that he was not a member of the Wu-Fam, Shabazz has now become an official member of the Sunz Of Man.
Albums: Book of Shabazz (Hidden Scrollz) (2003)

Shaolin Soldiers
Other Names: n/a
Notes: Group comprising of Baby Pa, Lethaface, Profes, and Star. Lethaface was featured heavily on U-God's debut album and has also recorded with Shyheim. Star made a surprise cameo on Method Man's "Tical 2000: Judgement Day" album; and the entire group lent their vocals to King Just's "Mystics of the God" album.
The Shaolin Soldiers are no longer in existence. Baby Pa has retired from rap altogether, leaving Lethaface, Profes, and Star to pursue their careers as separate solo artists.

Sunz Of Man
Other Names: The Disciples, Da Last Future
Notes: Well known Wu group consisting of 60 Second Assassin, Hell Razah, Killah Priest, and Prodigal Sunn. The Sunz Of Man have seen a few roster changes since their inception (before Wu-Tang). Back then the Sunz were without 60 Second Assassin, but had 7th Ambassador (aka Holy Ghost, Zodiac Killa) and Shabazz The Disciple in their ranks. It was this outfit that worked with the then Wu producer Supreme Kourt and recorded a number of tracks.
Shortly after, Shabazz left the group to pursue a solo career and 7th Ambassador retired from the rap game altogether (only to appear later on Hell Razah's solo debut album).
The Sunz Of Man played a pioneering role in the formation of the [now changed] United Kingdom group, and have many close Wu affiliates including Ol' Dirty Bastard, Timbo King and Dreddy Kruger.
Due to his problems involving the Wu, Killah Priest was absent from the group's third album "Saviorz Day". Future recordings may see his return, but only time will tell.
In Early 2003, Shabazz announced that he is now officially part of the Sunz Of Man.

He is currently working on a number of solo albums.

Other Names: 2 On A Roll, Two Da Road

Albums: n/a

U-God
Other Names: 4 Bar Killer, Baby U, Lucky Hands, Golden Arms
Notes: Sat out for most the "36 Chambers" album, reportedly due to an jail term. U-God is probably the second most mysterious Clan MC (after Masta Killa).
Despite having released a solo album, not much is known about him (except for the fact that he likes to beatbox).
Albums: Golden Arms Redemption (1999)

United Kingdom
Other Names: UK, Population Click
Notes: Perhaps the most mysterious aspect of this group are its members. A lot of speculation has taken place as to who exactly is part of the United Kingdom. Originally they were known as Population Click (with a very large contingent of MC's), but their present roster is still unclear. The most conclusive one to date lists these groups (in capitals) and members: Ace Council, Allah Real, THE BEGGAZ, BLACK ROSE KARTEL, BROOKLYN ZU, COINS (now Ancient Coins), CUFFIE CRIME FAMILY (now Division), Don Chulo, Duck Low, Dungeon Masta, I Born, Kendra, Laquan, Lady Raw, Laza-Life, Makeba Mooncycle, THE MANCHUZ, Nikki, Popa Wu, PEE FROIS, Pyzone, ROYAL FAM, Suga Bang Bang, SUNZ OF MAN, Ty-Jigs, and ZU NINJAZ.
The group have released only a handful of tracks under the name United Kingdom, and their only Wu album appearance was on Popa Wu's solo offerings. Not all the UK members may be Wu affiliates. PEE FROIS may be just one example. They are a group from Africa and was cited as being part of United Kingdom by Makeba Mooncycle during an interview. Rumors once suggested that the group were working on an album called "The Collision". UK's first single was "Wake Up" b/w "Soldiers of Darkness" (these later became Killarmy and Sunz Of Man singles).
The retail release of Popa Wu's "10th Chamber" listed the United Kingdom with only 3 members: I Born, Laza-Life and Dungeon Masta. This is likely to be the new outfit for this group as former pro-active members (eg. Hell Razah, Prodigal Sunn and Timbo King) no longer make mention of the "UK" in any tracks of late.
Albums: n/a

Warcloud
Other Names: Holocaust, Architect, Dr. Killgrave, Mr. Appleby, Alcatraz, Warcloud Trembling Eagle, Frank Holocaustal
Notes: Former Black Knights MC, popular for his ultra-detailed multi-layered poetry, and correct english pronounciations. Has a limp in his walk due to truck accident many years ago during a lone visit to Japan.
Warcloud has become the subject of much recent debate due to the sudden change in his rhyme style. Although his lyrics are still largely "multi-layered and ultra-detailed", his execution is far more off-beat. This is often referred to as a "free verse pattern" where rhyming is unnecessary and mostly sporadic. In his own words, he names this new rhyme style as "Mixed Forest Zone", whereas his old style was referred to as "Old Jail Pyjama Room". RZA believes Warcloud to be genuinely crazy (which would explain a lot of things!).
Fans will also note that Warcloud's lyrics are now littered with an increasing use of cliches, metaphors and references to food, nursery rhymes, fables and other classic tales. Changed his name from Holocaust to avoid any negative backlash from the Jewish community.
Albums: Nightmares That Surface From The Shallow Sleep (2002); Smuggling Booze In The Graveyard (2002)

Wu-Tang Clan

Originally made up of 8 core members, but are now 9 strong - with members Ghostface Killah, GZA/Genius, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, Method Man, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Raekwon, The RZA, and U-God. Their history and achievements are now infamous. The Clan's influence on hip hop is one of the defining moments in the genre's history and their music style is still imitated today.
