does it happen all the time when you start the computer up? basically, you can do;start the computer in safe mode, reboot, then see if it does itstart the computer normally (if its not doing it all the time)let me know the details of it, there are some files you can copy to fix the problem (if it needs repairing), windows keeps those files on your PC incase you don't have the recovery disk
ok, startup and do the start->run, type in scanreg like the dude above you said, if that doesnt work, i'll give you the location of some backed up files you can use which will probably work (as a last resort)
