How Do You Grow Weed?

So my friend just got his first apartment and he's trying to grow weed. It's already planted and he has pretty much everything he needs except we don't know the chemicals to turn the stuff in to super sticky weed. Has anyone else tried growing and what have yall done?

Yeah man I buy clones. cuts down on grow time significantly and you are always assured female plants unlike using seeds. I keep a big hps light on the plants for an 18 hour shift then completely cut off all light to it. In essence you create a lunar cycle for the plant to grow by that is easier for you to maintain. Give the plant some nutrients everyday, wait six weeks, then you should be rollin in several ounces of some bomb.

What are clones? I've heard of them, just never really heard about them. And is the HPS light like a UV light? And thanks for the info.

ive only grown bangin regs, outdoors, and it was pretty corny i will never waste my time again.  but i take it your growin some dro inside so thats nice.  a clone is like a graft of another plant so when people have good plants they will save some and then regrow em and shit.

Clones are the branches that are cut from a mother plant, then regrown. HPS stands for high pressure sodium, you can find some lights starting at around $200, expensive but well worth it.

see i kno what they are, but where do u get em.  cause like even all the huge dealers, they pick up by like the half ton and shit.  but i dont kno where to get actual grafts of plants, jsut the weed

Thanks for the help guys. I'm not sure how serious my friend is about growing, but I figure more knowledge wouldn't hurt.

I was reading a couple things about growing weed and it was saying to keep the acid levels to a minimum because it kills the female plants. What does the HPS do for the weed? Is it like plant food? And as far as lights go, does it really matter a whole lot? Besides the wattage, are there any other factors I should look for?
