why west coast rap doesn't do that well

personally i think it's because some/most the rappers constantly rep the west...and so anyone that isn't from the west think it's a bit pointless listenin to it (Conciderin I'm from England i don't care where their from cuz i'm not from there).
but i can understand that some east coast heds sleep on west coast rap cuz they can't relate to the rappers constantly shoutin WESS WESS! or whatever...

U can go through a lot of east coast album and not here one comment about what side they reppin.

It cud be because they try and put the Westcoast on the map, so if someone here's a good song and then here the rapper say 'WEST COAST' they'll think 'Oh it's from the west coast...what a nice change(lol)' Or some bullshit! but personally i think that's the reason why it's slept on a lot...if they stopped the devide then it would be more personal, rather then peeps jus catorgarizin westcoast rap

I wasn't meanin EVERY rapper from the West...Perhaps he's jus shit/ahead of his time or jus sayin propz to the east to try and sell....

another reason is the fact that the west doesn't have the kind of label's the East does....even tho the east's labels are fucked up and most artist's who are signed to them have sold out, it's what get's people listinin to their shit...if u don't sell out, then expect not to sell a lot of records...

basically its like this....90% of the west is underground or indi. for the exception of about 15 artists....no one ever gets radio or video play. now the east coast is 95% commercial. they have major labels running their shit. the west coast runs it on their own. as for the whole thing that we shout west west and that shit. well hell the east coast does it to. reppin Marcy, Brooklyn, Queens, QB, BX, Yonkers, Philly and so on. Bleek, Biggie, Jayz they all repped BK to the fullest on their songs and people didnt hate. Mobb Deep, Nas and all them are always yellin Queens. and so on. its not about that shit. people dont care if their repping. its all about promotion. and the west doesnt have it. mainly cuz they arent backed by majors. name me at least 10 big name east coast artists that arent backed by a major. i could name more than 10 west coast artists that arent backed by a major right now. Dru Down, Jayo Felony, Tray Deee(as a solo artist), Goldie Loc(as a solo artist), Celly Cell, Keak Da Sneak, AMG, Suga Free, Daz, Playa Hamm, CJ Mac, Knumskull(when known as Drank A Lot), Frost, X-Raided....as u see theres so many indi/underground artists on the west the east probably wouldnt survive on the indi level.
