Led Zeppelin - In Through The Out Door

1979.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Favourites:

Prince - Controversy, Purple Rain, Sign O The Times
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood, Couldn't Stand The Weather, Soul To Soul, In Step
Public Enemy - Yo! Bum Rush The Show, Takes A Nation..
The Beastie Boys - Licensed To Ill, Paul's Boutique
Paul McCartney - McCartney II, Tug Of War
George Harrison - Cloud Nine
The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Tuff Enuff
Rick James - Street Songs
David Bowie - Scary Monsters, Let's Dance
Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full

Run-DMC - Raising Hell

Overall fairly bad decade of music in my opinion.
