With all the promotion and re-releases that album got it better have sold that much. It's more of a "for show" album in my opinion. When you spend millions upon millions on creating and promoting an album it has to go diamond just to break even. Why do you think  MJ's Bad and Dangerous weren't considered successes by Sony? Same for the last couple Backstreet Boys albums. Because when you spend so much money on the thing and don't or barely break even you wonder what it was all for.

Look at the movie Waterworld; domestically it made 80 million wth another 175 mil worldwide fot a totsal of about 250 million, while American Pie made a total of 230 million. American Pie was considered a huge hit and spawned several sequels while Waterworld was considered a disater and a sequel was out of the question. Why? Because American Pie cost 11 million to make and another 25 millin (maybe) to promote; leaving a 200 million dollar profit. Waterworld cost near 200 million to make and and a whole lot to promote. Add in the time it took to film and you got yourself something not worth the effort.

That beinf said, Usher did well, but no one is going to be able to retire because of it.

I didn't mean Usher's personal income. Obviously he is doing great from his cut and his shows, but he didn't have to pay for his promotion and creating the record. I was talking more about the execs at Zomba.

That beig said, I still think Usher sucks and if he were out in the 60s when RnB was good he'd have been politely shown the door. He's still rich enough to retire, unless he's stupid with his money like Hammer was.
