Gotta post my thoughts, as I figure Logic started the thread after what I said about Nate on the Kurupt topic below. ;)

I definately think Nate is dope. He can make a song dope that otherwise would not have been noticeable, like Where I Wanna Be. And I agree that on many of these guest appearances he shows up the main artist.

However, what he CANNOT do is sing an entire song consistently. G Funk Classics as a double disc was pretty mediocre, simply because while he can sing a great hook he can't hold your interest over three verses - his melodies just aren't good enough! The only Nate solo I really feel is One More Day, and that's only because Daz's music is so good.

I'm really not knocking Nate, 'cause it's not his fault - he's so successful at singing choruses for other artists that he and his record company understandably want to capitalise on that. He just needs someone to help him write SONGS instead of trying to extend a hook to cover whole track... Like Death Row Uncut said... he should stick to doing hooks! Peace

Nate ain't never come wack in my eyes, like a few have said above he's made alot of songs tighter than they would of been if they left him out. I think Nate's latest stab at a solo album was a good one, I personally love "Music & Me" & still bump it quite alot. "I Got Love (original)" & "Music & Me" are both stand out tracks on that album for me & are both Nate solo's.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Thats an opinion that not many people would agree with

"G Funk Classics" is considered by Hip Hop Heads a Near Classic, or sometimes even a classic...

"Music and Me" was considered a Disapointment...But hey, its your opinion...

Well, Dissappointment in sales and in tha low amount of tracks but as in content? hell nah.......
It had hella tight songs on there.......
There waz only a couple of wack ones like tha one wit ludacris and shit......

G-fuck classics is just like Art Of War.......It would be a classic if it waz 1 cd only.......

People were saying Nate was tryna put out a commercial album to sell, rather than stay true to what he does best...Like having Lil Mo, Fabolous and all them on there...But again, its all an opinion...

^^^^^^^^^i agree with that shit. nate took the fact that he was hot at the time, and tried to go commercial with fuckin JD, ludacris, and bitch ass fabolous. the fact that warren was no where on there to me is fucked up. but what the hell he went for the $$ and ended up gettin bit in the ass. i sure as hell didn't buy it. peace
