This country was built on free enterprise, the government has no business forcing private companies to put such labels on products.   If a consumer advocate group wants to step up and inform the public (which many of them have) whether or not a food is GMO then I Zalute them, but it is no place of the government.

America was supposed to be a country where buyers and sellers could meet on their own terms and exchange business.

It's no wonder most Americans are overweight and unhealthy. All fast food is garbage. I have seen propaganda videos showing how beef is brought in and made into patty's with no added chemicals. What they don't show you though is the process while the cow/pig/sheep/bull is alive.

Even though the meat may come from live cattle (ie; 100% beef) and advertised as 85% - 100%. Those cattle live indoors (unnatural) in smaller confined spaces in order to minimize overall space and rent fee's for land. They are fed GM corn (not grass), and given 4 steroid boosters to increase growth while eating less of the GM feed. In addition, they are given regular antibiotics to fight infections created from not walking around, and living as they should out in a open field eating fresh grass. It's a heavily medicated animal, pumped with steroids eating cheap genetically modified crop and to grow large at a quicker rate to maximize profits. So by the time it hits the patty making stage, way before Wendy's, it's a antibiotic chemical burger. I still can't get why people want to eat this garbage.

I haven't eaten a single fast food product in years. I get my meat direct from a farm where I can see the animals, and if I wanted to - Go into the same field and see how they interact with humans. Best tasting meat and food comes direct from a fresh source, not from mass produced chemical garbage

LOL. This wasn't a dig, it was simply stating a point in fast food, and since Wendy's and exclusive American fast food joints were being discussed, I used American, but yes, UK is just as pathetic even more so than other European countries.

I shop regularly at farm shops. They are more expensive, but better quality and healthier but they are out of town. When I was young we had specialized greengrocers, butchers, bakers, dairy's and local produce all over. Now it's all big corporate supermarkets with no local produce. NONE! We have 5 fast food places here and more and more chains coming here killing off all local shops.

I seen an article in the local newspaper talking about a KFC coming to town (about the only one we don't have here) and people were SUPPORTIVE of it, talking about "yeh it'll create more jobs, it's great" and "finally, more choice in where to eat". I'm thinking "wtf is wrong with these people". I walk into farm shops, and it's filled with old people (mainly locals who can't travel out of their little villages) people need to get back to eating right and kicking these GM grease fests out of town. Through work, I've stayed in some upmarket areas when I've had to do seminars or support business exhibitions and in remote rich areas you don't see this shyt. It's only us, the bottom feeders getting fed this poison. Go to a rural part, and it's traditionalist living, the right way, organically and how it should be here. It's what is done though, box all the poor into an area and slap up some decaying shit for the people to get into. I call these the 3 pillars of destruction - "The Pub", "The Bookies" & the "Takeaway". In poorer parts of london, we have these 3 sometimes lined up in sequence in every part of an area. To keep the people drunk, broke and unhealthy, unable to 'think' and unable to swing back. Parts of Cornwall and Devon are much nicer, which is why I love spending large parts of my time there
