WESTCOAST!
« on: April 19, 2002, 04:29:44 PM »
Do ne of y'all think that the west coast can outsell the east in the future? as much as i would love to believe this i just don't think it can happen. Simply because the only peeps sellin a lot on tha west are Dr. Dre(at least 4 million), Snoop(at least 2 million), and Xzibit(at least a million). While the eastcoast have a lot of peeps sellin such as, jay-z, nas, ja-rule, dmx, and the list goes on, so i just don't think the west will ever be able to match up. What do y'all think about this?

Theres Another Way Of Looking At It Though. How Many Sort Of Pop-Rap Artists (Like Ja Rule) Has The West Coast Had? This Shitty Rap Sells, If Anything The West Coast Ain't Selling Out.

So What If The East Sells More - The West Still Has The Better Music. For Most West Coast Artists To Sell Reasonably Well, They Would Have To Change There Styles....Which Nobody Wants.

Tell me what seperates Knoc-Turn'al from Ja Rule... their music is almost identical (pop-rap)

thats true KVB totally agree
also with most of the last meal tracks, there IMO are pop rap.
whats the real problem with pop rap anyway, ppl like ja rule definately have a place in the industry, if u dont like the dont buy it, but u gotta take these west coast artist down from the pedastole u've put them up on; snoop, dre, xzibit, knoc they putting out popish rap now a days, only the underground artists are truly keeping it street.
only an opinion

I think Nelly is a true definition of Pop Rap... making songs like "Hot In Herre" ... wtf, its just about being Hot... it's messed up... Ja Rule in my mind is not Pop Rap, he is just marketed...

i'd rather cunts from the west cum out and sing pop rap shit than be actin like gangstaz and actin hard when they arn't...as long as they b theirself its ok..

i aint sayin id be a big fan of the shit...but if sum1 cums out actin all gangsta u all r callin em fakes anyways...so if love is what they do then why can't they rap it....just cos they're from the west?

at least the west would sell again...ur all talkin about they would have to be what ppl want them to be (pop rap) to sell, but ur critisisin them if they don't be what we want them to be...(gangstaz)

there's that much fake shit about these days i would prefer for sum cunt to rap pop shit and sell...rather than act hard and waste their talent cos they don't sell at all...

personally i don't give fuck bout record sales and shit. but the west is capable of outsellin tha east coast. but we gotta get our up & coming talent out their. cause i'm basically tired of snoop & dre , and everybody related wit them. and we got some talented artists, capable of making radio playable songs such as e-40 (madly underrated), & baby s.
