Kokane - They Call Me Mr Kane
« on: October 24, 2005, 09:37:57 PM »
i only just recently got a copy of 'Funk Upon A Rhyme' and though i anticipated it to be good, it blew my expectations away. I cant stop bumping it

But im wondering:
Is the follow up just as good?
Is it any good?
Does it have any major faults/flaws?
Does it still bump in a major way?

Ive been reading a few reviews over the net and theres not that many, and the ones I have found don’t really give me much detail

I guess im looking for responses from Kokane fans who have followed his career, but any comments would be appreciated

Thanks
Always talkin bout the cash he got, the little pesos for shows
And God knows his materialistic raps and wack flows

Unrecouped for his flamboyance and reflection
He's leasin rentin and frontin

I think its better than Funk Upon A Rhyme. The style is defenatley different, he raps a lot on Mr. Kane. There are also a few tight guest apperances from C-Bo, Tray Dee and Short Chop on that record. Bumps for sure though...Just don't get Mr. Kane Pt. II its garbage, bad production and crappy songs overall.

It's a decent CD, but compared to Funk Upon a Rhyme, it's not half as good.  FUAR is a classic and Mr Kane is not.  Worth gettin still though.

Yeah like the other dudes said its not as good as Funk Upon a Rhyme (but how can u top that?). The style is very different, but Battlecat and DJ Silk laced Koka with some nice beats, and its definetly worth getting. "Breakout" feat. Tray Deee plus "On Tha Grind" (Battlecat prod) feat. King Lou & Ruff Dog alone makes the album worth getting IMO

This is a coo CD with alot of Kokane on it from the same period:

features: Kokane, Kam, Battlecat, Xzibit, Jayo Felony, Bad Azz, King Lou, Gap Band, Tray Deee, Kcavie, Too Short, Baby S and more...

Couple of the tracks are also on They Call Me Mr. Kane. But you can get the CD at Amazon for only a few dollars so its worth it.
