"Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not to be told"
« on: April 09, 2002, 01:27:54 PM »

Yo I was recently bumpin' this album almost all last week & this weekend n' shit all over again. (Haven't really bumped it this much since 98')
But yo this cd is tight as fucc, I don't mean to break out with old ass topics n' shitt, but this cd really deserves much more props than it get's (or dosen't get).

To me it's like hearing vintage Beats by the pound, and a very Hungry Snoop Dogg (out to prove he can do it alone without Dre), Together this mixture was a perfect blend of South/West coast gangsta shitt.

And like the homie "Slikk" said months ago....If ya Watch the movie "Da Game of Life" the music on this lp make alot more sense in term's that the feel and the attitude of the film are represented perfect through Snoop's Album. (it's the soundtrack)

If ya have it....Give it another try, If ya haven't purchased it yet cause of all the bad reveiews n' shitt, copp it, It won't dissapoint. (And trust me it's not as bad as people make it seem)
And watch the movie if ya have access to it. ;)

Classic No Limit beats + Hungry Snoop= a very good album.

Imo...of course

Agree, most people hate this album because of the beats... oh well... they missing out on snoop's show...

Word!  I like this album because its Snoop in RARE forum.  He only made one TRU NL album and it's probably the only NL album that Ill bump from start to finish.  I may not dig all of the cuts, but I can listen from start to finish.

Nice flashback!

Amen to that, Snoop is capable for a much better show than this, and not just not the beats, cause he aint makin beats anyway.
Like Snoop said on a skit: "BEATS? So that's what makes me now?"

This was tight album, but NL just trashed it IMO with their grunts and shit like that durin Snoops flow! Snoop didnt mix with NL at all but he showed that he can make hits anywhere he wants to!! The beats didnt mix either with Snoop. Tight album tho from start to finish!!

Damn AxleF, Soopafly looks fucked up in that pic.  :-X This album was okay, it had a few bangers, but overall I still think it's his worst album.

this album came as a shock to me, since I wasnt with the whole internet hiphop thing when this came out, and I almost had a heart attack when I saw snoop was off deathrow. The album is OK at best, i wouldnt say its 1.5/5, maybe 3. It was the first no limit cd I ever bought, and im not ashamed to admit that I probably have every no limit cd up until 'da last don' heh!

This album is straight up wack in my opinion... although I liked "Snoop World" & "Gin & Juice II" they can't save the album from slumping into mediocrity
