Dr. Dre Leaves Aftermath

In a shocking statement from Interscope, Aftermath founder Andre Young, better known to the Hip Hop world as Dr. Dre has left his own label due to a dispute in his contract.

Young and his distribution label, Interscope, where discussing the terms of Aftermath's ownership. Aftermath is divided into three parts. Dre owned one third. Interscope owned two thirds. Dre wanted to form a new deal where they would split the ownership into halves instead of thirds, but Interscope was not in favor of it. Citing a clause in his contract his lawyers announced that Dr. Dre is leaving Aftermath.

There is very little known thus far about what caused the famous gangster rapper to leave the label he founded instead of getting another distribution deal. Interscope will release another official statement tomorrow afternoon that will hopefully clarify the situation.

Rumors are also going around that Dre thinks that he was being cheated out of his rightful profit and that Eminem may temporarily sign him to Shady Records.

I find this hard to belive because Dre helped make Interscope Records what it is.  When no one else would distribute "The Chronic", Interscope came in and did it.  After that, Dre and Jimmy Iovine had a long lasting personal relationship.  They would often join eachother's families for dinners.  And when Dre's contract with Interscope was up, he was getting like 8 figure deals from EVERY other record label, and he decided to stay with interscope, because of his personal friendship with Jimmy.
