Those were all a very long time ago. Besides , the beat for "In Da Club" wasn't what made it a hit. It was 50's catchy chorus and lyrics . That might be the only bright spot for Dre since Mel Man left. Plus, this topic is post Mel Man , not before. He is medicre nowadays, but great from '90 to '95. He sucked in 1996 and 1997 , but came up in 1998 with "No limit Top Dogg "( Mel Man showed up in that era ). They put out hits , Mel left, and now Dre is mediocre.
Mel-Man left for a lil bit but i heard he's back over at Aftermath workin wit Dre.

The truth is that when people like Daz, Soopafly, Sam Sneed, J. Flexx, Mel-Man, Stu B Doo, Budda, Chris Taylor, Scott Storch, Mike Elizondo and others bounced from Dre and started to make beats on their own - Dre fell the fuck off... These were the people Dre needed to make a hit - Today he only got wack ass Focus...Dre was a great producer because he could put out all off other peoples concepts and thoughts on one track and make it really BIG - Today, when he is making beats on his own he's just an AVERAGE producer and that's the truth! His last beat that I've really enjoyed was "Imagine", his last big hit was "How We Do" - nowadays his beats are just boring and they all have the same concept... "Grow Up"?! PLEEEASE - If you say it's a dope beat than your're trippin' because the whole song is good at best but the truth is - it's really nothing special.
