Look at the credits on the Marshall Mathers Lp, 2001 , and all of those dope beats from 5 , 6 , 7 years ago !!!!!!! Mel Man was the key ingredient .

Those were all a very long time ago. Besides , the beat for "In Da Club" wasn't what made it a hit. It was 50's catchy chorus and lyrics . That might be the only bright spot for Dre since Mel Man left. Plus, this topic is post Mel Man , not before. He is medicre nowadays, but great from '90 to '95. He sucked in 1996 and 1997 , but came up in 1998 with "No limit Top Dogg "( Mel Man showed up in that era ). They put out hits , Mel left, and now Dre is mediocre.

actually mel man was there in 1996 on \dr.dre presents the aftermath

but i agree with ur post.. mel man with dr. dre = classic music

melman by himself is mediocre ...dogg named snoop was meh..\

dre is hit or miss without mel man tho.. i mean look what mel man did with battlecat = get ur walk on.. a classic beat.. he definitely helps out in the production

dres music now is skeletal.. not layered as much i think mel man was the one that added that extra shit..

Dude, that's just opinion on In Da Club. People love that beat. Keep in mind also, how cats on he west other don't feel the same. With all the hate the west give their own, Dre, cats like on the east have not but respect for Dre and love his music. Even if they don't like a beat. Anyhoo, Like I said. I named specific albums that where incredible without Mel-Man's presence or assistant.  The post make it seem like Mel Man made Dre as a great producer when Dre's been great way before MM came around.

^^ Mel-Man hasn't been seen in Dr. Dre credits for awhile..  He used to be in on all of them awhile back..

I agree, Dre is a great producer, but I think the thing that seperated him from the rest of the greats was his great mixing/production team, which seems to not have the magic they did a few years back..

D 12 actually made a track with the "In Da Club" beat , and it paled in comparison to 50's.

Really?  As I recall, two or three other artists (one was Beyonce, don't recall the others) all tried to come with their own records to that beat.  That beat was a fucking heater!  I'm not saying 50 didn't compliment it right but that was one of those beats that everybody wished they had had. And that Mel-Man shit is reaching. Dre's had hit records before and after he was in the mix.

The truth is that when people like Daz, Soopafly, Sam Sneed, J. Flexx, Mel-Man, Stu B Doo, Budda, Chris Taylor, Scott Storch, Mike Elizondo and others bounced from Dre and started to make beats on their own - Dre fell the fuck off... These were the people Dre needed to make a hit - Today he only got wack ass Focus...

Dre was a great producer because he could put out all off other peoples concepts and thoughts on one track and make it really BIG - Today, when he is making beats on his own he's just an AVERAGE producer and that's the truth!

His last beat that I've really enjoyed was "Imagine", his last big hit was "How We Do" - nowadays his beats are just boring and they all have the same concept... "Grow Up"?! PLEEEASE - If you say it's a dope beat than your're trippin' because the whole song is good at best but the truth is - it's really nothing special.
