Discussion on tracks Sam Sneed did during his time with Dre...
« on: January 27, 2017, 09:43:43 AM »
Of course I've been bumping "Better Recognize" since the time it came out... but I happened to catch it on my playlist the other day, and truly that track is on a whole nother level.  In fact, when you think that Sam Sneed was a driving force behind "Natural Born Killaz" and "Keep Their Heads Wringing" as well, it seems he was probably one the greatest talents around at the time of 94' and 95'.  Those are 3 of the tightest bangers hip-hop has ever seen.

The released version of "Lady Heroine" from the Gridlocked Soundtrack was trash, but the alternate version was a tight joint.  Very well written, and he's flowing on that level he did with "Better Recognize".  Dude was a producer, but damn he also had a sick flow.  Only thing missing was I guess he just didn't have that star quality and presence, or image on camera--but behind the mic he didn't seem to be lacking in charisma. Also, that "Blueberry" unreleased joint he had with Snoop was fuckin dope

How was the WideAwake Sam Sneed album?  I'd like it if someone could hook up a fan-made Sam Sneed album and somehow add to these bangers...Any other joints on or near the level of...

"Betta Recognize"
"Keep The Heads Wringing"
"Natural Born Killaz"
"Lady Heroine" (unreleased version)
"BlueBerry" with Snoop

what else?

The original version of his Death Row album is bangin' but the quality is subpar and lots of tracks were not completed so they're missing hooks and have gaps for verses and adlibs. Even with those shortcomings I still bump it regularly because it's that good.

dope thread infinite!!!! it's a damn shame how so much potential was wasted at death row. if suge wasn't so foolish, sam coulda kept death row on top cause he had the sound that dre was gettin' credit for then.

Are y'all talkin' about some unreleased song from some bootleg? Cause the "Street Dreams" that was released is produced by Trackmasters.
