Contest Details
Unsigned artists from across the globe have the chance to submit material
for appraisal and consideration for the first prestigious, Dubcnn & DJ
Strong Present: Strong 25 mixtape release.
From all the entries the Top 25 Unsigned MC's will be judged and
selected for this compilation style mixtape to be mixed, hosted and
arranged by DJ Strong.
The songs will be judged exclusively by DJ Strong and Rud of Dubcnn.com.
The winning submissions will be notified by email and upon completion the
release will be distributed free on Dubcnn.com, StrongHouseRecords.com and an
array of other online outlets that support independent music. This is your
chance to get on and get heard by millions of people. The release will
also be handed out to DJ's, producers, labels, industry tastemakers and
promotional companies.
Rules and Guidelines:
Artists may only submit once, using only 1 (one) artist name* per project.
A maximum of 2 songs can be submitted for review purposes so we strongly
recommend artists only submit their best material to date. We accept
submissions of freestyles, complete tracks or anything you deem fit for a
DJ Strong mixtape. Please be aware that tracks recorded exclusively for
this release will be looked upon favourably however will not guarantee
success - this contest is to find genuine talent and expose it to the
masses.
You can send professionally recorded material, or home studio material, we
will judge all the music on merit. The better your music sounds, the more
chance you have to win but it is not necessary to record in a
multi-million dollar studio to win one of the Top 25 slots so please feel
free to submit any of your best material regardless of where you recorded
it.
Any artist that is signed to a major label or has significant label
funding will not be included in this project. You can however be signed to
an independent label and still qualify for this project. Judges will make
the final judgement on whether an artist is included or not based on any
ties to a label.
Any major features or features with artists that have major label deals
will be closely looked at to decide eligibility. This contest is designed
to showcase undiscovered and upcoming talent however if you are sampling
an established artist or have a legitimate feature from an established
artist -
judges will make a final decision after reviewing the song if it can be
used or not.
To Submit Material
You must send an MP3 file 192kps or greater of your music. No files over
10MB in size will be
accepted and songs must not run over 5-6 minutes in length. If they run a
little over this will not exclude you from the contest we just urge you to
keep the songs to a normal time limit.
Along with the tracks simply write your artist name and where you are
from, like this:

If you are chosen from the entrants we will ask you to email us a
biography and pictures so please have those ready.
*Any artists submitting under two different artist names will
automatically be disqualified and no refunds will be given. You will also
lose out all chances for inclusion in the upcoming project. Also, all
artists must submit THEIR OWN work. If you submit another artists music as
your own, you will be disqualified as above*
Costs To Submit
There is a cost of $35 for submitting your 2 songs. Any songs that
are submitted without payment will not be looked at until payment is sent
and will be deleted if not paid for within 48 hours.
The $35 submission fee gets your music appraised for inclusion on
the Dubcnn & DJ Strong Present: Strong 25 mixtape and also in all
cases will earn an email response from DJ Strong and Rud critiquing
different aspects of the submitted material - that will include both the
positives and negatives of your music.
You will be informed if your music is not up to standard and we will aim
to explain how you can go about improving yourself as an artist. The
feedback will be approximately a short paragraph per song depending on the
feedback required. All feedback will be sent to the email address you
provide with your submissions or your PayPal payment email address.
Your $35 entrance fee must be paid via PayPal by clicking Submit
below.
Following cleared payment you will receive and email from one of the
judges thanking you for participating and informing you how to submit your
tracks. The contest will run throughout November and December of 2007 and
January 2008. All feedback will be submitted at
that time after all the music has been appraised.
During February our winners will be informed, the mixtape completed and
released as described above.

3) Wait to receive word about if you have made it into the Top 25 in
February 2008
