Good or bad? Beef
« on: March 18, 2002, 04:46:43 PM »
Is it good or bad to have beef in the rap industry?  Personally, I think it's a good thing.  Just look at the classic disses:

Hit em up - 2Pac
Real muthaphukkin' G's - Eazy-E
Dre Day - Dr. Dre
Ether - Nas
Nuthin' but a bitch thang - Insane Clown Posse
Slim Anus - Insane Clown Posse

I think beefs make things more interesting.  I like to see rappers go back and forth and try to top the last diss.  Your thoughts?

good,  b/c whenever a rapper is involved in a major beef it brings out tha best in them,  here are some great albums to classics that came out while they were involved in a beef

dre-  tha chronic
eazy-e-  its on
pac-  aeom,  Mdk7dt
mobb deep-  hell on earth
jay-z-  blueprint
nas-  stillmatic
tha dogg pound-  dogg food
kurupt-  tha streetz
dj quik-  dollars an sense
murder was tha case soundtrack
biggie-  life after death

Even if tha whole album dont revlove around tha beef it brings out tha best in an artist b/c they have suptin to prove

Disses are good but they shouldnt go too far.

NEVER diss a man about his lady
NEVER diss a man about his sexuality
NEVER diss a man about his religion
and if ur down to talk shit about those, they should handle it in a fight

Disses do bring the best in artists which is good thing.
But how pac and biggie ended up that is not a thing at all, but thankfully that kind of stuff hasn't happened for a while in the rap industry.
RIP biggie and pac

1. Real Muthphuckin G'z
2. Hit Em Up
3. Dollars & Sense
4. Dre Day
5. Puffin On Blunts...
6. Don't Bite The Phunk
7. What Would U Do(Dogg Pound Version)
8. Callin' Out Names
9. Trued Up
10.No Vaseline

those are the TOP TEN hardest disses EVER!!!
close calls: DPG/K..What Would U Do(Eazy E Version)...Let U Havit....Def Wish...Let Em Understand Perfection...
i believe that a diss record is good....as long as its kept on wax....but if it gets to the streets..then so be it....i guess they would have to be ready for the consequences...but as long theyre stricktly kept on vinyl then theres no problem and it makes for good music

That's fuckin stupid... you can't put rules on it... diss whoever the fuck you want about whatever the fuck you want to... you should know from the begining if it's gonna be strickly on wax or if it's gonna elevate to another level.. and if it's gonna elevate to another level... there's no point in puttin on wax in the first place.

Why you gonna hold back? Real muthafuckers dont bite their tongues.

aslong as it stays on wax, and come the end of it they can look at it like men & they didnt do nothin' foolish, then yeah, its good & healthy for an MCs career. But when it goes to the streets & people get shot up over a few words, that shit is stupid.

^^true shit. i say diss whateva tha fuk u want. this iz rap music. it aint about puttin limits on yurself or censoring yurself. if u got sumthin to say....SAY IT. I dont hold rapperz to a higher level then tha average muhafucka on tha street. jus cus they got money n can rap...dont mean they sumhow divine about they shit lol. like Ice-T said on tha Chris Rock show once..."90 percent of rappers out there, wont take shit from no one, and will knock u in tha jaw if they hafta"
