Andy Marte is expected to hit 255/350/459 if he were to stay with the Red Sox.  Even if he does go to the Indiands, I wouldnt be shocked if Marte puts up better numbers than Lowell.  He will definately at least be an average 3B.  Productive Center Fielders like Crisp are much harder to find in the FA market than above average 3B.

marte will develop into a superstar, mark my words.  this is a terrible trade.  crisp is a below average cf.  i'd rather develop marte in cf than get crisp for christ's sake.  we can't mortgage our future anymore.

hanley ramirez is gonna bite us in the ass.
shilling was a red sox in 87
we had bagwell and brady anderson too, and traded them for mike boddiker.

the one good trade i can think of, besides dumping mrs. nomar hamm, was the slocumb for lowe and varitek

How is Coco Crisp a below average CF?  If that's the case then the Yankees have an even worse CF lol

This trade is bullshit. I am tired of teams like Cleveland and Oakland developing tons of young talent only to have to trade them once they get good in order to save money. The Red Sox already stole Manny Ramirez from us, now they got Coco too. Fuck them, they can't develop their own players so they have to raid small market teams.

I don't care what the experts say about Andy Marte, you don't trade young, proven players for unproven players.

Your Indians biggest weakness on the field is the 3B position. Having Marte will solve this problem for years to come.  CF is already locked with Grady Sizemore who is a way better player than Crisp.  The deal hasnt gone through anyway because of Mota's physical.  Your team will also be getting Jason Michaels to cover LF.

Dubois/Michaels-Sizemore-Blake/Michaels OF is solid.  Come on man, your GM is setting up good players up and down the lineup.  Marte without a doubt will be better than aaron fucking boone.  Just because prospects are "unproven" doesnt mean they are worthless.

The Indians won 90 plus games last year. If we were in the National league we would have made playoffs. This team is ready to win NOW. But now we traded Coco for a guy (Marte) who is not ready for the major leagues. They said he will start the year in Triple A. Now I guess we can pretty much forget about competiting this year.

Baseball needs a salary cap because I am sick of this shit.....

lol losing Crisp is not that big of a hit.  Coco Crispt is not a key part for the Indians to win this year, by adding Michaels you will hardly notice  Plus your team will be having improving years in a shitload of positions, especially in 2006 MVP Candidate Hafner.  Marte will definately be called up after he'll tear it up in AAA and especiall when boone starts hurting your lineup.

Coco Crisp 2005 Line:  300/345/465 .810OPS
Johnny Damon 2005 Line: 316/366/439  .805OPS

Also, Damon played half his games at Fenway which is an easier place to hit Doubles and Triples vs where Crisp played. And Crisp is 7 years younger than Damon.  Crisp will easily have a better year than Damon next year  ;)

Stats do not lie.  Your eyes can be misleading.  And come on, Crisp is younger is already putting up similiar stats, hes expected to improve while Damon is not

actually stats are misleading an its why you have to watch the game.  And Crisp is still not better then damon, hes gettin there but he isnt damon yet.
