Spider Loc interview from Gunitworld
« on: January 31, 2006, 03:48:27 AM »
Audio version: http://www.gunitworld.com/interview_spider_loc01302006.mp3

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, and where did you come up with the name 'Spider Loc' from?

Spider Loc: Thats a name actually that orientated in the streets. Based on my big brother, it was a a gang affiliation, that was the name that he carried in the streets and when I decided to gang-bang, based on my resemblance, and the fact that we get down quite similar, I was also named Spider, behind big spider.

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, how did you get together with 50 and G-Unit?

Spider Loc: My homie Young Buck WUDDUP YOUNG BUCK, MY NIGGA! G-Unit South. I bumped into Young Buck in Atlanta Georgia, I took that opportunity to freestyle for him, he was impressed to the point that he allowed me to accompany him a week later to his video shoot in Los Angeles for 'Shorty Wanna Ride'. I took that opportunity to freestyle for 50 Cent and upon me completing my rap, they offered me a position on G-Unit Records.

GUnitWorld.com: What has changed in your life when you joined G-Unit Records?

Spider Loc: Shit, everything. My money, the white people get at me, my access to the finer things in life, my position actually in this world period. I travel, I've seen the world twice over since I met him. Seen my kids in a manner I've always desired. It made me look out for my mother, I just feel more mature, more stable more secure and my future looks good, looks a whole lot better than it has been looking..

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, can you tell everybody a bit more about G-Unit west, who's signed right now and who can we expect to be signed?

Spider Loc: We're thinking about dealing with this young cat named 'Hot Rod' up out of Arizona. We're trying to get something situated with him. (Inaudible), we're just throwing some things around man, trying to put together, we're building some things over here you'll see.

GUnitWorld.com: Is there any future artists, in G-Unit Records, any future artists that are going to be signed soon?

Spider Loc: G-Unit as a whole?

GUnitWorld.com: Yeah just G-Unit records in general rather than just G-Unit West.

Spider Loc: Well, we're trying to take, G-Unit as a whole, we're trying to sign everybody thats on the positive side of making records on the game. So you know, yeah there are going to be some more people signed. Line up, takeover, G-Unit takeover.

GUnitWorld.com: You and Game are going at each other now, you went at game with 'Bitch Boy', he came back with '240 Bars', have you heard that diss yet?

Spider Loc: Yeah that shit was comical man, it was wack as fuck.

GUnitWorld.com: (Laughs) No doubt.

Spider Loc: I'm the reason, (laughs), I'm the reason why they put me when they play Madden, but at the same time I was nominated for the best original song of the video game, not just on Madden but on the video game period for the year 2006 with that song.

GUnitWorld.com: Yeah that was awesome, congratulations on that.

Spider Loc: Get this, he had a song he submitted for the same video game that was not accepted, and he thought maybe it was perhaps because of the production on it so he went and had (Inaudible) do a remix and he submitted it a second time and it still wasn't accepted so that might be the reason he pushes (Inaudible). Yeah I know he's a basketball type muthafucka he's going to play live and then he got the NBA so he can probably push a (Inaudible) you know? He's just a weird dude man, dude is a misrepresentation of the west coast period.

GUnitWorld.com: Now do you plan on getting back at him again since he came at you with '240 Bars'?

Spider Loc: Yeah his career is over, his image, his character is over but yeah I've got some shit in the cut, I got a mixtape dropping real soon and its got lots for his bitchass head,

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, and did you get a chance to see his DVD 'Stop Snitchin' Stop Lyin'' at all?

Spider Loc: Yeah I got a chance to giggle at that too, that was, such a total...I want to apologize to the world. I'm totally saying for the way he represented the west coast. Ridaz down here don't get down like that at all. That shit was like real gay, corny, faggot-type shit man. I didn't see nothing G in that whole DVD, I apologize, you know, on behalf of all west coast natives man, that is not how we get down, we are totally insane of the way he has been conducting himself.

GUnitWorld.com: Now there is a rumor flying around the internet that 50 Cent paid $10,000,000 stop the production of the 'Stop Snitchin' Stop Lyin'' DVD, is that true?

Spider Loc: I don't know, I've never asked 50 Cent, (Inaudible) I never heard about if he tried to stop the DVD, I'm not sure. If I were 50 Cent, I wouldn't try and stop it, if I was that dude I would have shot myself in the head for putting that bullshit out. I want the world to see that.

GUnitWorld.com: Now are there anymore disses from G-Unit coming towards Game? Just not Spider Loc coming at game but like Buck?

Spider Loc: Be sure you grab the new mixtape, I'mma drop out man.

GUnitWorld.com: And what's that one called?
,
Spider Loc: I think it's going to be 'LA Kings', I'm not sure man, I'm still tossing it around. I'm in the studio right now writing songs as we speak.

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, and who can we expect on that mixtape?

Spider Loc: Me, 50, Buck, my homeboy Smurf and (Inaudible), Young Hooty, we got Lil' Easy, Snoopy Blue, Young Flow from Compton, we got Ghetto Black from Compton, we got Taboo (Inaudible) formerly young hawk, (Inaudible), Kartoon from Ruff Ryders on there, Big Psyche, my nigga IVC Whaddup (Inaudible).

GUnitWorld.com: Ok and when do you plan on releasing that? Just anytime soon when you get it all finished?

Spider Loc: We gotta get it up SuperBowl weekend man.

GUnitWorld.com: Oh ok great. Now as far as your solo coming out, 'The West Kept Secret', when is that planned to be released?

Spider Loc: I still don't have a release date, tentatively for the end of the summer. Who knows? I don't know. I ain't really tripping, You know what I mean? I just keep it bangin, riding getting this money, performing. I mean, we're putting the album together tough as we speak.

GUnitWorld.com: Do you have any guest appearances on there that you can tell us about?

Spider Loc: It's the west kept secret dog, so I'm going to just keep it that way. Outside of G-Unit I have a couple of surprises, and I'm going to keep it that way for as long as possible.

GUnitWorld.com: Alright cool. Do you know when your first single will come out? Approximately, around the summer time?

Spider Loc: Soon, to keep the ears wide open I'mma be right up in them real soon.

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, and we have a fan question here. What is going on with you and Yukmouth, last we heard you snatched his chain, did he ever get the chain back and do you guys still have beef?

Spider Loc: I never snatched a chain from anyone in my life. I got into a fist-to-cuff threw a few punches in the club with Yukmouth and his partners and once I returned to my vehicle, somebody else in my car pulled his chain out their pocket. I sold him one of the chains back that the jeweler would not pay for because there were no diamonds present and the other was retained by somebody I know, they purchased it off my little homie, sold the chain back to Yuk for $1500 through the homie 'TY' from Soul Records, Harlem Crib. A LA nigga who got his finger around Yukmouth you know, he need a (Inaudible) he's a bitch boy, he fuck with a nigga named 'TY' then he (Inaudible). He was my nigga so I allowed 'TY' to come back and retrieve the chain for a few pebbles, because the jeweler wouldn't even give me anything for them, they were fake, theyre (Inaudible) piece. Now, I mean I'm on the defense it's whatever, fuck Yukmouth he's a hoe, you know what I'm saying? He got what he got, he got mobbed up, ya feel me? He lost his little jewelery, you know what I'm saying? Then he went on the internet the next day, talking about somebody pulled a gun in the club. (Inaudible), that's like war with myself. (Inaudible) I'm ignoring Yukmouth, I don't wan't any problems Yukmouth. You win, you go on the internet and say "Spiders boy robbed me of my chain with a gun", you win. You feel me? He did a video interview saying this, and I had not seen one gun in the club that night. I don't understand why he would even make up something like that, but I don't want any problems with no nigga like that.

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, we have another fan question here. What's going down with Daz & Kurupt, you guys got beef?

Spider Loc: Hey let me tell you something, don't nobody beef with Spider Loc, you hear a nigga on the mike, whining, crying, nobody period. (Inaudible) You might hear a million muthafuckas (Inaudible), but nobody got no beef with me. Nigga that got beef with me and (Inaudible), you know I'm out here G-Unit crippin, loving life, sitting on top, locking this west down, making power moves with the big boss 50 Cent, and thats what I'm doing. A whole lot of people probably don't like that but they ain't got no beef with it, they ain't trying to run up on it, they gon' cry and complain like hoes, but I really don't know whats happening with Das and Kurupt, I ain't had no communication with either of them, speaking of the word beef ain't nobody got beef with me, not even the bitch boy. Because his tightass calvin klein draws are all up in the crack of his ass he's upset, but he ain't got no beef. What's beef? Beef is kiddin' on a nigga, he can get on the booth and make as many wackass songs as he wants nigga, you see, (Inaudible). I got all As on my G report card. This is what these niggas know. So he had to make up quaint little threats and statements to try and make a good song (Inaudible). Any nigga bold enough to put a butterfly on his face is bold enough to put a dick up his ass.

GUnitWorld.com: Now there is rumor that you and Lil' Scrappy had beef and you knocked him out. Is that true or is that just a complete rumor?

Spider Loc: Ah Lil' Scrappy my nigga man, we had a little misunderstanding, it got out of hand it was all together the same night man. That's my nigga he from G-Unit South. I ain't gunna add no feul to that fire.

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, now you've got a DVD, it's called 'Brainless', what can we expect to see on that?

Spider Loc: Oh man just the footage I've been sorta compiling. It's not really a G-Unit production, it's more of a personal production put together with my own independent company. And it's me doing a little lightweight trip through Los Angeles, you get to follow me and my homeboys as we make a few moves, get in a couple of clubs, just hanging out, you get to travel with me to Miami and fuck with the homie Blue, (Inaudible). Taking the recording studio, it's got a lot of little behind the scenes footage. We take a trip to Jordandale projects, (Inaudable), it's just like some gutterass street exploration. Shit, it's like a neighborhood national geographic DVD, just go through the streets and see what we can see type of thing.

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, and a couple fans want to get to know you a little better. Who are your music influences?

Spider Loc: Influences in the present or in the past?

GUnitWorld.com: Both

Spider Loc: Present I'll have to say mostly my camp, based on the fact that I'm heavily saturated around their production and their music while they're doing it. I need to see people that were successful and see what they did, what allowed them to be successful. And the inspiration I get present, really from my camp is that I was able to watch champions record and write and I see their comfort level and it's allowed me to find my comfort zone. Past inspiration, of course their have been numerous artists that have said a line or two here and there that have impressed me, but when I have to re-look on someone who probably motivated me or really had make feeling like this was something I wanted to do and had me excited about the way they presented their art through the years and show consistent tight shit I would have to say it was Ice Cube and Cam Whats Up Cam? Those are the people that back in the day I looked to as MCs that knew how to grasp this ghetto life without being too direct with it, they know how to paint a real good picture of the life we live with poetry and I would say Ice Cube and Cam, I hate the fact that they don't really see eye to eye but shit is what it is.

GUnitWorld.com: Ok, in your opinion, who is the best rapper alive?

Spider Loc: Alive?

GUnitWorld.com: Yeah

Spider Loc: Spider Loc, no questions hands down.

GUnitWorld.com: Good answer. Can you talk about the Big Fase and Game beef?

Spider Loc: There ain't nothing about it my nigga. I hear the facts that you hear.

I noticed that too...and they wrote 'Das' and 'Hooty'. Clearly not into their West Coast rap!

Hittman is not a real person. He was a computer program generated by Dr. Dre and Mel Man back in the mid 90's. When Dre started treating Mel-Man like shit, Mel infiltrated the computer and put a virus in the hittman program

Haha... I was thinking the same thing... I'm surprised GUnitWorld.com was able to laugh and say "No Doubt" with the GUnit dick in their mouth.

Yeah.  On the other hand, Spider Loc did just kill that whole "you the reason niggaz turn on mute when they play Madden" line recently...remember that song Game submitted for the Madden '06 soundtrack that got rejected?

spider loc has excellent taste there.   everyone on the west coast always says pac.  spi went with kam.   i'm feeling that 110%.

also, he probably said "watts up!" and not what's up to kam.
