DJ Quik wants to squash beef with Suga Free!

Good news for Quik and Free fans, Quik reached out to Suga Free today on K-Day to basically squash the beef they have going  . He said that he hoped that Suga Free would join him on stage at the concerts, so that's good news to the folks that's going to Deigo on Wed. and Hollywood on thur. and fri. night. He said that Suga Free was a good dude and that hopefully they can get bacc to making good music together cuz Street Gospel was an low key classsic and hopefully he can get on the new project(Just Add Water). Quik said that he didn't really mean to trip out like that, he said that he was just having a bad moment and might have just taken out on the wrong people. He also reached out too Blacc Tone saying that he was on of the badest.

Quik talked about family problems and how they never support any of his projects. He's had family troubles for years and that he refelcts that into his music at times often feeling angered. He said that he would be working with Nas soon and that he is in the studio working with 2nd II None on a new album. He didn't mention anything about Hi-C though, wonder if they still have some issues to work out?

He said he got his own label (Mad Science) and that he was independent. I forget the name of the company he mentioned that his music was being distributed from. He mentioned that the album has moved a little over 100,000 units independently and that's like selling platinum on a major label, and that he was happy with how the project was going. He said he hoping to do some movies in the future too. Didn't really elaborate too much, but mentioned that that's what he might be focusing on next. He talked breifly about working with some of the artist he collab'd with on the album. He mentioned his myspace account and told everyone to checc it out. He said your going to be seeing and hearing from him and that he ain't going no where no time soon. He said that he is feeling pretty good theez days.


Overall, a decent interview I guess. I was kinda surprised when he mentioned suga free cuz he was asked if they made a movie about Dj Quik, who would he want in it, and he said suga free cuz he's real animated, and that got the ball rolling on him trying reach out to free and kill the beef. I hope they make it happen and get bacc to making music together, cuz like I said before Free really needs Quiks assitance on the new album, not to mention production. I wonder if the Dj Quik diss Free has on the new album won't make the cut now, since he's still working on it..

Interesting... but the problem with Quik is that he flip-flops on issues. One interview he's dissing artists, next interview he's praising them and apologising - and it's not just Free.

I'm a huge Quik fan but I get the impression that sometimes he needs to think before he says stuff...

I am sure that Suga Free is cool with that...even when Quik first dissed him, he still was sayin he had the upmost respect for him and would never diss him.

Not every music shop is part of their network. usually independent mom & pop shops dont have soundscan so the units sold somewhere other than major retailers wont appear on soundscan. Not to mention he probably sold a good amount of them himself on the streets.
