i contacted the hosts support a little while ago.. they said they're working on cutting down server load for the node we're on.. and from the figures i can see its working..

its kinda thrown me as every 10 hours or so i was checking the server stats and optimising the databsae buffers/settings  (e.g. key_buffer_size etc ) used on my server to speed dubcc up.. just as i thought i had it set all this happened...

i've reset to a 'known good' dubcc configuration until things are stable again.. load times seem to be goin down

since i've complained they moved our VPS to a new node. seems quicker compared to this time last night. although not amazing..

edit: now i put my last set of figures into the sql configuration its going pretty well :)
11pm my time now, when i get up i'll be able to review the sql stats and tweak the config again for even more speed

I get quick speeds but every now and then they'll be a 10 minute span were it goes real slow.

i'm still fine tuning the server sql parameters.. but the servers holding up pretty well.. the odd slow spot is most likely due to searches n stuff..

a week later.. i've now got most of the important mysql parameters optimised for the best performance.

there are a couple more things i can try in future.. but right now the bottleneck isnt at those points but the main one should be when v1.1 of the forum software is released soon as this is meant to speed up general browsing and also speed up searches. i may have to go through part of the optimisation process i've been doing in the last week again after the upgrade, but in reality it shouldnt need much tweaking now. I've set the parameters up so dubcc can handle a slight increase in load (users online etc) without me having to fiddle :)

hell yea, it costs me ALOT of money so yall can have dubcnn :)

that donate button is for the forum, seer set it up, i dont think many people have donated and not much...
