I didn't hear that. I did hear him say he doesn't necessarily want to break Aaron's record because he wouldn't want to overshadow what Aaron had to go through (racism) when he broke Ruth's record.

I'm 99% sure that he was on roids anyway, so i'm not trippin either way. I will say this though - it was amazing that he came back for 15 games last year and hit 5 HR's in those games.

I'm not real sure i buy into the hype that this will be his last year either. He never outwardly says " i'm retiring", he says he wants to go home with his family after the season is over. We'll see what happens.

he basically said he wants to break Ruth's record because that was set before blacks were allowed to play, so to him that record is tanted. Just like his own record is tanted with 'roids (he didn't say that) But I guess his reasoning is that if Ruth's record is tanted, then he can break it tanted. He wants to break Aarons record, but if he doesn't, then his not angry because of everything Aaron had to go through (death threads, hate crimes, etc.) Bonds respects Aaron for overcoming what he had to, but doesn't respect Ruth because his record was set in an era when blacks were not allowed to play.

^^^^yeah i feel that about the regulations against blacks during ruths day, but it aint like that no more so he needs to learn how to act, unless he's cool with the slave mentality
